A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:

The ENG/MODE selector switch
The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.

(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809).

4. Procedure
Subtask 73-21-60-020-054-A

A. Removal of the HJ2B Engine Wiring Harness

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

CAUTION: USE PLIERS THAT HAVE TEFLON JAWS TO TIGHTEN OR LOOSEN THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE PLIERS THAT HAVE METAL JAWS. METAL JAWS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS.

(1) Disconnection of the HJ2B engine wiring harness (1):

NOTE: If necessary, use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to disconnect the electrical connectors.

(a) Disconnect the HJ2B engine wiring harness (1) connector from the EEC channel B J2 receptacle (3) (at the 2 o'clock position).
(b) Disconnect the HJ2B engine wiring harness (1) connector from the pylon receptacle (12) (at the 12 O'clock position).
(c) Remove the two bolts (4) that attach the connector socket (6) to the bracket (5).
(d) Disconnect the connector socket (6) from the bracket (5).
(e) Remove the two bolts (7) that attach the connector socket (9) to the bracket (8).
(f) Disconnect the connector socket (9) from the bracket (8).
(g) Remove the four bolts (14) that attach the ignition exciter box 1 cover (13) on the ignition exciter box (15).
(h) Remove the ignition exciter box 1 cover (13) from the ignition exciter box (15).
(i) Disconnect the HJ2B engine wiring harness (1) connector from the ignition exciter 2 (16) (at the 7 o'clock position).
(2) Remove the bolt (11) from the clamp (10) that attach the HJ2B engine wiring harness (1).
(3) Cut and remove the RTV 106 (Material No.CP2267) around the engine wiring harnesses.
(4) Removal of the bracket assemblies:
(a) Removal of the bracket assembly (20):
1 Remove the five nuts (22) and the five bolts (19) that attach the bracket assembly (20) to the fireproof block (23) and bracket (21).
2 Remove the bracket assembly (20).
(b) Removal of the bracket assembly (17):
1 Remove the four nuts (24) and the four bolts (18) that attach the bracket assembly (17) to the fireproof block (23) and bracket (21).
2 Remove the bracket assembly (17).
(5) Remove and discard the fireproof block (23).
(6) Remove the HJ2B engine wiring harness (1) from the 18 clips (2) along its routing.
(7) Remove carefully the HJ2B engine wiring harness (1) from the engine.
(8) Install the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, open tubes, open hoses and the disconnected connectors.
