Removal of the HJ2A Engine Wiring Harness
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 73-21-60-010-058-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 73-21-60-010-091-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809). D. Get Access

A. Removal of the HJ2A Engine Wiring Harness
PRE SB 72-0191
(b) Disconnect the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the EEC cooling blower (lower) (4) (at the 1 o'clock position).
(c) Disconnect the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the EEC cooling blower (upper) (9) (at the 1 o'clock position).

(d) Disconnect the two HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connectors from the two receptacles (29) (at the 1 o'clock position).

(e) Disconnect the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the HJ2B engine wiring harness receptacle (13) (at the 11 o'clock position).
(f) Disconnect the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connector 402 from the pylon receptacle (16) (at the 12 o'clock position).
(g) Remove the two bolts (10) that attach the connector socket (12) to the bracket (11).
(h) Disconnect the connector socket (12) from the bracket (11).
(i) Remove the four bolts (18) that attach the ignition exciter box 1 cover (17) to the ignition exciter box (19).
(j) Remove the ignition exciter box 1 cover (17) from the ignition exciter box (19).
(k) Disconnect the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connector P24A from the ignition exciter 1 (20) (at the 7 o'clock position).
(2) Remove the nut (6) and bolt (7) from the clamp (5) and clamp (8) that attach the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1).
(3) Remove the bolt (14) from the clamp (15) that attaches the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1).
(4) Cut and remove the RTV 106 (Material No.CP2267) around the engine wiring harnesses.
(5) Removal of the bracket assemblies:
(a) Removal of the bracket assembly (24):
1 Remove the five nuts (26) and the five bolts (23) that attach the bracket assembly (24) to the fireproof block (27) and bracket (25).
2 Remove the bracket assembly (24).
(b) Removal of the bracket assembly (21):
1 Remove the four nuts (28) and the four bolts (22) that attach the bracket assembly (21) on the fireproof block (27) and bracket (25).
2 Remove the bracket assembly (21).
(6) Remove and discard the fireproof block (27).
(7) Remove the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) from the 19 clips (2) along its routing.
(8) Remove carefully the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) from the engine.
(9) Install the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, open tubes, open hoses and the disconnected connectors.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
USE PLIERS THAT HAVE TEFLON JAWS TO TIGHTEN OR LOOSEN THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE PLIERS THAT HAVE METAL JAWS. METAL JAWS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS.
(1) Disconnection of the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1): NOTE: If necessary, use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to disconnect the electrical connectors.
(a) Disconnect the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) channel A J2 receptacle (3) (at the 2 o'clock position). PRE SB 72-0191
(b) Disconnect the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the EEC cooling blower (lower) (4) (at the 1 o'clock position).
(c) Disconnect the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the EEC cooling blower (upper) (9) (at the 1 o'clock position).

(d) Disconnect the two HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connectors from the two receptacles (29) (at the 1 o'clock position).

(e) Disconnect the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the HJ2B engine wiring harness receptacle (13) (at the 11 o'clock position).
(f) Disconnect the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connector 402 from the pylon receptacle (16) (at the 12 o'clock position).
(g) Remove the two bolts (10) that attach the connector socket (12) to the bracket (11).
(h) Disconnect the connector socket (12) from the bracket (11).
(i) Remove the four bolts (18) that attach the ignition exciter box 1 cover (17) to the ignition exciter box (19).
(j) Remove the ignition exciter box 1 cover (17) from the ignition exciter box (19).
(k) Disconnect the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) connector P24A from the ignition exciter 1 (20) (at the 7 o'clock position).
(2) Remove the nut (6) and bolt (7) from the clamp (5) and clamp (8) that attach the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1).
(3) Remove the bolt (14) from the clamp (15) that attaches the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1).
(4) Cut and remove the RTV 106 (Material No.CP2267) around the engine wiring harnesses.
(5) Removal of the bracket assemblies:
(a) Removal of the bracket assembly (24):
1 Remove the five nuts (26) and the five bolts (23) that attach the bracket assembly (24) to the fireproof block (27) and bracket (25).
2 Remove the bracket assembly (24).
(b) Removal of the bracket assembly (21):
1 Remove the four nuts (28) and the four bolts (22) that attach the bracket assembly (21) on the fireproof block (27) and bracket (25).
2 Remove the bracket assembly (21).
(6) Remove and discard the fireproof block (27).
(7) Remove the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) from the 19 clips (2) along its routing.
(8) Remove carefully the HJ2A engine wiring harness (1) from the engine.
(9) Install the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, open tubes, open hoses and the disconnected connectors.
