Removal of the J10 Harness
1. Reason for the Job
This harness connects the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to the N1 speed sensor, the control alternator, the starter valve and T12 sensor.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

A. Removal of the J10 harness
(1) Disconnect the electrical harness from the T12 sensor, the starter valve, the control alternator and the N1 speed sensor.
(2) Remove the bolt (10) which attaches the J10 harness clamp to the bracket on flange B at the 5:00 o'clock location (detail A).
(3) Remove the bolt (30) which attaches the J10 and J9 harnesses to the same bracket (detail B).
(4) Remove the 2 bolts (50) which attach the cover plate (60) to the right leg of the bracket at the 5:30 o'clock location between flanges E and G (detail C). Remove the clamp assembly and remove the J10 harness from the flexible clamp (70). Re-install clamp assembly.

(5) Remove the 2 bolts (80) which attach the cover plate (90) to the right bracket of the Transfer Gearbox (TGB) (detail D). Remove the cover plate and remove the J10 harness from the flexible clamp (100).
POST SB 72-232
(6) Remove the 2 bolts (80) and washers (110) which attach the cover plate (90) to the right bracket on the TGB (detail D). Remove the cover plate and remove the J10 harness from the flexible clamp (100).

(7) Remove the bolt (120) which attaches the J10 harness clamp to the bracket on the TGB right side (detail E).
(8) Remove the bolt (140) which attaches the J9 and J10 harnesses clamps to the bracket on flange H at the 5:30 o'clock location (detail F).
(9) Remove the bolt (160) which attaches the J10 harness clamp to the bracket on flange B at the 5:00 o'clock location (detail G).

(10) Remove the bolt (180) which attaches the J9 and J10 harnesses clamps to the bracket on flange D at the 5:30 o'clock location (detail H) with nut (190).

(11) Remove the bolt (210) which attaches the J10 harness clamp to the bracket on flange B at the 5:45 o'clock location (detail J).
(12) Remove the bolts which attach the J10 harness clamp to the following:
(a) The bracket on flange B at the 5 o'clock location (detail K), with J9 clamp.
(b) The bracket on flange B at the 4:45 o'clock location (detail L), with J9 clamp and nut (260).
(c) The bracket on flange B at the 4:15 o'clock location (detail M), with nut (290).
(d) The bracket on flange B at the 4 o'clock location (detail N), with nut (320).

(e) The lower end of bracket on flange B at the 3:30 o'clock location (detail P) with nut (380) and bolt (370).
(f) The upper location of bracket on flange B at the 3:30 o'clock location (detail P) with J9 clamp, nut (350) and bolt (340).

(13) Remove the bolts which attach the J9 and J10 clamps to the following:

(14) Remove J10 harness.
(15) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(16) Remove all the clamps from the harness.
(1) Disconnect the electrical harness from the T12 sensor, the starter valve, the control alternator and the N1 speed sensor.
(2) Remove the bolt (10) which attaches the J10 harness clamp to the bracket on flange B at the 5:00 o'clock location (detail A).
(3) Remove the bolt (30) which attaches the J10 and J9 harnesses to the same bracket (detail B).
(4) Remove the 2 bolts (50) which attach the cover plate (60) to the right leg of the bracket at the 5:30 o'clock location between flanges E and G (detail C). Remove the clamp assembly and remove the J10 harness from the flexible clamp (70). Re-install clamp assembly.

(5) Remove the 2 bolts (80) which attach the cover plate (90) to the right bracket of the Transfer Gearbox (TGB) (detail D). Remove the cover plate and remove the J10 harness from the flexible clamp (100).

(6) Remove the 2 bolts (80) and washers (110) which attach the cover plate (90) to the right bracket on the TGB (detail D). Remove the cover plate and remove the J10 harness from the flexible clamp (100).

(7) Remove the bolt (120) which attaches the J10 harness clamp to the bracket on the TGB right side (detail E).
(8) Remove the bolt (140) which attaches the J9 and J10 harnesses clamps to the bracket on flange H at the 5:30 o'clock location (detail F).
(9) Remove the bolt (160) which attaches the J10 harness clamp to the bracket on flange B at the 5:00 o'clock location (detail G).

(10) Remove the bolt (180) which attaches the J9 and J10 harnesses clamps to the bracket on flange D at the 5:30 o'clock location (detail H) with nut (190).

(11) Remove the bolt (210) which attaches the J10 harness clamp to the bracket on flange B at the 5:45 o'clock location (detail J).
(12) Remove the bolts which attach the J10 harness clamp to the following:
(a) The bracket on flange B at the 5 o'clock location (detail K), with J9 clamp.
(b) The bracket on flange B at the 4:45 o'clock location (detail L), with J9 clamp and nut (260).
(c) The bracket on flange B at the 4:15 o'clock location (detail M), with nut (290).
(d) The bracket on flange B at the 4 o'clock location (detail N), with nut (320).
