WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

   (1) Remove the FMU fuel strainer from the FMU (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-15-000-801).

   (1) Do an inspection of the FMU fuel strainer for:

Not Serviceable
If you see unusual contamination or if you see that the Engine has strainer clogging indications again and again, do an analysis of the material you keep to help with the troubleshooting of the fuel system faults. Normal contamination includes sand, sealant particles and small collections of metallic material.
Damage to the inlet screen
Not Serviceable
Install a new FMU fuel strainer (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-15-400-801)>.
   (2) Clean the FMU fuel strainer in the FMU (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-15-100-801).
