3. Job Set-up
Subtask 72-62-41-941-050-A

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:

The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.

(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

4. Procedure
Subtask 72-62-41-020-050-A

A. Removal of the Accessory Gearbox (AGB) Transfer Shaft

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE COMPONENTS OF THE OIL SYSTEM IF THE ENGINE IS HOT. THESE COMPONENTS STAY HOTTER THAN OTHER COMPONENTS. HOT COMPONENTS CAN BURN YOU.

WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE OIL SYSTEM UNTIL THE PRESSURE GOES TO ZERO. THE PRESSURE GOES TO ZERO APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES AFTER AN ENGINE STOPS. A PRESSURIZED OIL SYSTEM CAN RELEASE A SPRAY OF HOT OIL THAT CAN BURN YOU.

WARNING: DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY.

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

WARNING: YOU MUST USE CORRECT APPLICABLE GLOVES, FACEMASK, EYESHIELDS AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES AT ALL TIMES.

WARNING: ALWAYS USE APPROVED EQUIPMENT AND PROCEDURES TO LIFT PARTS. STAY OUT FROM BELOW LOADS. IF THE PARTS ACCIDENTALLY MOVE OR FALL, THEY CAN CAUSE AN INJURY OR KILL YOU.

CAUTION: INSTALL CAPS AND COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS EACH TIME AFTER REMOVAL AS NECESSARY. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN OCCUR.

(1) Remove the starter from the AGB (Ref. AMM TASK 80-11-05-000-801).
(2) Remove the manual control cover (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-63-03-000-801).
(3) Install the 956A7613 ADAPTER, LOCK - CORE ENGINE in the manual control gear.
(4) Remove the retaining ring (3) from the AGB with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
(5) Removal of the transfer shaft.

CAUTION: DO NOT PUT FORCE ON THE TRANSFER SHAFT DURING THE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. IF YOU PUT FORCE, DAMAGE TO THE PARTS CAN OCCUR.

(a) Install the 956A6674 SLIDE HAMMER & ADAPTER - TGB TRANSFERT SHAFT.
(b) Remove the transfer shaft (1) through the AGB with the 956A6674 SLIDE HAMMER & ADAPTER - TGB TRANSFERT SHAFT.
(6) Gently pull out the transfer shaft (1) from the AGB.
(7) Remove the 956A6674 SLIDE HAMMER & ADAPTER - TGB TRANSFERT SHAFT.
(8) Remove the 956A7613 ADAPTER, LOCK - CORE ENGINE from the manual control gear.
(9) Install the manual control cover (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-63-03-400-801).
(10) Install the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, tubes, hoses and the disconnected connectors.
