4. Procedure
Subtask 72-54-00-210-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Inspect cooling air tubes and manifolds as follows:
INSPECT/CHECK
MAXIMUM SERVICEABLE LIMITS
REMARKS
1.Cooling air manifold for:

A.Cracks in the forward mounting lug
One crack on one forward mounting lug is permitted.

B.Broken forward mounting lug
One breakage on one forward mounting lug is permitted if there is not crack or breakage on the two adjacent cooling air tube supports.

One breakage on one forward mounting lug of a forward lug is permitted according the two adjacent cooling air tube supports:
are not broken or crack is no longer than 0.59 in. (15 mm) on the mounting lugs.
A continue in-service limit of 10 hours or 10 cycles is permitted if one adjacent cooling air tube support is broken.
If one or two adjacent supports have a crack that is more than 0.59 in. (15 mm), check the part for crack evolution after 10 hours or 10 cycles
-If no crack evolution:
Check after 50 hours or 50 cycles following the first check, then check every 100 hours or 100 cycles
-If crack evolution :
A continue in-service limit of 30 hours or 30 cycles is permitted.
C.Dents
Any number if smooth contour and not deeper than 0.03 in. (0.76 mm).

D.Nick, scratch and chafing (wear) on tube external surface.
Maximum finish depth after you make the defect smooth is 0.008 in. (0.20 mm).
Make the defect smooth by hand blending per SPM 704111 if necessary to remove sharp edges.

Do a local fluorescent-penetrant inspection (Ref. AMM TASK 70-51-00-230-002).
No crack is permitted.
2.Cooling air manifold for:

A.Dent on sleeve
Any number if smooth contour and no deeper than 0.03 in. (0.76 mm).

B.Dent on box
Any number and not deeper than 0.118 in. (3.0 mm).
Serviceable after blending out high metal and sharp edges.
C.Scratches or chafing on box
Any number and not deeper than 0.004 in. (0.1 mm).

3.The rear pin of cooling air manifold:

A.Breakage
Not serviceable.

B.Distortion
Any amount after re-shaping.
Serviceable if, during installation, the rear support mounting lug slides freely into its housing.
C.Fretting
0.020 in. (0.5 mm) deep over 120 degrees or 0.0098 in. (0.25 mm) on the whole periphery.
Whatever the amount of fretting found, replace the wire-mesh bushing.
D.Wear groove
0.05 in. (1.27 mm) deep and 0.12 in. (3 mm) wide over 120 degrees located at approx. 0.8 in. (20 mm) from the outer end of the bracket.
Whatever the size of the wear groove found, replace the wire-mesh bushing.
4.Cooling air tubes for:

A.Cracks in tubes
Any numbers, if not longer than 2 in. (50.8 mm) and separated by at least one support member.

B.Dents
Any number, if no more than 30 percent of tube outer diameter.

C.Cracks in tube clamps
Any number if tubes are correctly attached.

5.Low Pressure Turbine Active Clearance Control (LPTACC) cooling air manifold for:

A.Cracks
Not serviceable.

B.Dents, collapse or flat areas
Any amount if depth is not more than five percent of the outer diameter of the tube.

6.LPTACC cooling air duct for:

A.Cracks
Not serviceable.

B.Dents, collapse or flat areas
Any amount if depth is not more than five percent of the outer diameter of the tube.

5. Close-up
