4. Procedure
Subtask 72-50-00-220-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Visually Inspect the Turbine Exhaust Case Weep Hole and the No. 4 Bearing Weep Line:
F Weep Hole Location ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
F No. 4 Bearing Weep Line ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Examine the weep hole and weep line for oil wetting:
     (a) If there is no oil wetting, continue to step B.
     (b) If there is oil wetting, do the steps that follow:
1 If oil consumption is more than 0.3 U.S. Qts/h, remove the engine from service and perform inspection of the HPT after possible oil ignition event.
2 If oil consumption is in limits, do the procedure to dry out the high pressure turbine after oil contamination (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-700-013):
NOTE: If the No. 4 bearing weep line has oil wetting, the oil leak has to be cleaned and the cause of the leak must be repaired before performing the procedure to dry out the high pressure turbine after oil contamination.
a If the dry out is successful, continue to step B.
b If the dry out is not successful, remove the engine from service and perform inspection of the HPT after possible oil ignition event.
Subtask 72-50-00-110-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Clean the parts:
   (1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with cleaning fluid (Material No.V01-002) , to clean the following parts:
     (a) The internal surfaces of the turbine exhaust case.
     (b) The external surfaces of the turbine exhaust case.
     (c) The tubes of the turbine exhaust case.
   (2) Make sure that the parts are free from soot, coke and wet oil.
   (3) Dry the parts with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
Subtask 72-50-00-210-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Visual Inspection of the Turbine Exhaust Case:
   (1) Examine the struts on the internal surface of the turbine exhaust case, from the rear of the engine. Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and the MIRROR - INSPECTION.
     (a) Damage on the leading and the trailing edges.
1 One distortion on each strut, with a maximum deflection of 1.00 in. (25.4 mm) radial length, accept it.
2 More than one distortion on a strut, or a deflection of more than 1.00 in. (25.4 mm) radial length, reject it.
     (b) If a strut is cracked, reject it.
   (2) Examine the external and internal surface of the turbine exhaust case.
     (a) If it is cracked, reject it.
     (b) If the stiffening rails are damaged, above and below the centerline, reject it.
     (c) If the external surfaces and the turbine exhaust case gaspath surfaces including the inner/outer case walls and struts have corrosion, accept it. You can remove the corrosion with a wire brush or steel wool.
   (3) Examine the oil pressure tube on the external surface of the turbine exhaust case.
     (a) Examine the tube where it goes in to the insulation tube cover, if it is chafed, reject it.
     (b) Examine the tube for security of attachment.
1 If the tube is loose, examine the attachment nuts, bolts and clips and the lockwire for damage, wear and loss of torque.
2 Reject items that are worn or damaged.
   (4) Examine the oil scavenge tube on the external surface of the turbine exhaust case.
     (a) Make sure that the oil scavenge tube is in the center of the insulation tube.
     (b) If it is not in the center, loosen the securing bracket, put the tube in to the center of the insulation tube and tighten the securing bracket.
     (c) Examine the tube for security of attachment :
