Subtask 72-23-06-941-051-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 72-23-06-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Accessory Gearbox (AGB) Link
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
   (1) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
   (2) Installation of the link assembly (22):
     (a) Install the link assembly (22) in the correct position on the fan frame shroud (32).
     (b) Install the spacer (31) to the groove of the fan frame shroud (32).
     (c) Install the mount axis (30) to attach the link assembly (22) on the fan frame shroud (32).
     (d) Lubricate the threads of the nut (29) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
     (e) Install the nut (29) to attach the mount axis (30) to the link assembly (22) and tighten it with your hand.
     (f) Install the link assembly (22) in the correct position to the AGB mounting lug (27).
     (g) Install the mount axis (26) to attach the link assembly (22) on the AGB mounting lug (27).
     (h) Lubricate the threads of the nut (24) with the graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
     (i) Install the washer (25) and nut (24) to attach the mount axis (26) to the link assembly (22) and tighten it with your hand.
     (j) Make a first TORQUE of the nuts (29) and (24) to between 464.66 and 420.41 lbf.in (5.25 and 4.75 m.daN ) T.
     (k) Untighten the nuts (29) and (24).
     (l) Make a second TORQUE of the nuts (29) and (24) to between 464.66 and 420.41 lbf.in (5.25 and 4.75 m.daN )
T.
     (m) Remove the unwanted lubricant.
     (n) Install the new
EIPC 72-00-00-63-110 COTTER PIN (28) on the mount axis (30).
     (o) Install the new
EIPC 72-00-00-63-190 COTTER PIN (23) on the mount axis (26).
   (3) Installation of the axial link assembly (12):
     (a) Install the axial link assembly (12) in correct position on the fan frame shroud (32).
     (b) Install the barrel nut (20) and barrel nut retainer (21) in correct position.
     (c) Install the spacer (19) to the groove of the fan frame shroud (32).
     (d) Lubricate the threads of the mount axis (18) with the graphite grease (Material No.
CP2101) .
     (e) Install the mount axis (18) to attach the axial link assembly (12) on the fan frame shroud (32).
     (f) Install the axial link assembly (12) in the correct position on the axial lug (17).
     (g) Install the mount axis (16) to attach the axial link assembly (12) to the axial lug (17).
     (h) Lubricate the threads of the nut (14) with the graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
     (i) Install the washer (15) and nut (14) to attach the mount axis (16) to the axial link assembly (12) and tighten the nut with your hand.
     (j) Make a first TORQUE of the mount axis (18) and the nut (14) to between 464.66 and 420.41 lbf.in (5.25 and 4.75 m.daN ) T.
     (k) Untighten the mount axis (18) and the nut (14).
     (l) Make a second TORQUE of the mount axis (18) and the nut (14) to between 464.66 and 420.41 lbf.in (5.25 and 4.75 m.daN )
T.
     (m) Remove the unwanted lubricant
     (n) Install the new
EIPC 72-00-00-63-070 COTTER PIN (13) on the mount axis (16).
   (4) Installation of the stirrup assembly (2):
     (a) Install the stirrup assembly (2) in the correct position on the fan frame shroud (32).
     (b) Install the spacer (11) into the groove of the fan frame shroud (32).
     (c) Install the mount axis (10) to attach the stirrup assembly (2) to the fan frame shroud (32).
     (d) Lubricate the threads of the nut (9) with the graphite grease (Material No.
CP2101) .
     (e) Install the nut (9) to attach the mount axis (10) to the stirrup assembly (2) and tighten it with your hand.
     (f) Install the stirrup assembly (2) in the correct position on the AGB housing lug (7).
     (g) Install the mount axis (6) to attach the stirrup assembly (2) to the AGB housing lug (7).
     (h) Lubricate the threads of the nut (4) with the graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
     (i) Install the washer (5) and nut (4) to attach the mount axis (6) to the stirrup assembly (2) and tighten the nut with your hand.
     (j) Make a first TORQUE of the nuts (4) and (9) to between 464.66 and 420.41 lbf.in (5.25 and 4.75 m.daN ) T.
     (k) Untighten the nuts (4) and the nut (9).
     (l) Make a second TORQUE of the nuts (4) and the nut (9) to between 464.66 and 420.41 lbf.in (5.25 and 4.75 m.daN )
T.
     (m) Remove the unwanted lubricant.
     (n) Install the new
EIPC 72-00-00-63-150 COTTER PIN (8) on the mount axis (10).
     (o) Install the new
EIPC 72-00-00-63-240 COTTER PIN (3) on the mount axis (6).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (
Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
