3. Job Set-up
Subtask 72-23-00-941-108-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance-panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
   (2) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 72-23-00-020-068-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Remove the fuel tubes (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-49-000-041).
Subtask 72-23-00-390-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Replacement of the O-rings of the Oil Supply and Guide Tubes
   (1) Removal of the oil supply and guide tubes
     (a) Disconnect the oil pressure-sensor tube (10) from the oil supply tube (6).
     (b) Disconnect the front bearing oil-supply-tube (3).
     (c) Loosen the union nut between flanges F and G at the 9 o'clock position.
     (d) Loosen the bolts (1) and (2) from the front bearing oil-supply-tube (3) to get sufficient clearance for the oil supply tube (6) removal.
     (e) Remove the bolts (7) and oil supply tube (6).
     (f) Remove and discard the O-rings (4) and (5) from the oil supply tube (6).
     (g) Remove the guide tube (9).
     (h) Remove and discard the O-rings (8).
   (2) Installation of the oil supply and guide tubes with the new O-rings
WARNING: USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
     (a) Lightly coat the new AIPC 72-23-00-15-330 O-RINGS PREFORMED PACKING (8) with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) .
     (b) Install the O-rings preformed packing (8) in the grooves of the guide tube (9).
     (c) Lightly coat the new AIPC 72-23-00-15-300 O-RING PREFORMED PACKING (4) and the AIPC 72-23-00-15-310 O-RINGS PREFORMED PACKING (5) with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) .
     (d) Install the O-ring preformed packing (4) and the O-rings preformed packing (5) in the grooves of the oil supply tube (6).
     (e) Do a visual check of the inside strut No. 10 to make sure that there is no blockage and that the area is clean.
     (f) Installation of the guide tube assembly and the oil supply tube
CAUTION: ENGAGE THE GUIDE TUBE AND THE OIL SUPPLY TUBE CAREFULLY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE O-RINGS.
       1 Engage the guide tube assembly (9) in strut No. 10.
       2 Install the oil supply tube (6) in the guide tube (9).
     (g) Lightly coat the threads of the bolts (7) with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) .
     (h) Install the bolts (7) to safety the elbow.
     (i) TORQUE the bolts (7) to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN ) T.
     (j) Installation of the front bearing oil-supply-tube (3)
       1 Lightly coat the union nut with engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) .
       2 Re-install the front bearing oil-supply-tube (3) in its initial position.
       3 Connect the front bearing oil-supply-tube (3).
       4 TORQUE the union nut to between 550 and 450 lbf.in (6.22 and 5.09 m.daN ) T between flanges F and G at the 9 o'clock position.
     (k) TORQUE the bolts (1) and (2) to between 53 and 47 lbf.in (0.60 and 0.53 m.daN )
T on the front bearing oil-supply-tube (3).
     (l) Connection of the oil pressure-sensor tube (10)
       1 Lightly coat the union nut with engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) .
       2 Re-connect the oil pressure-sensor tube (10) on the oil supply tube (6).
       3 TORQUE the union nut to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN ) T.

D. Do the minimum idle check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-006).
