A. Safety Precautions

(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

Subtask 72-21-06-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Fan Exit Fairing (Splitter)
(2) Put the 636-1100-3GSE INLET COWL PROTECT COVER or equivalent and the MAT - PROTECTIVE in the inlet cowl.
(3) Remove the fan blades (Ref. AMM TASK 72-11-03-000-801).
(4) Remove the splitter (1) from the fan exit stator as follows:
(a) Remove the 16 screws (2).
(b) Use the PWA111199 PULLER, SLIDE equally all around to remove the splitter (1) from the stator.
(5) Examine the clip nuts on the stator for damage and correct attachment.
(a) If the clip nuts are damaged, replaced them (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-07-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-07-400-801).
(6) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(1) Find the splitter (1) on the front of the engine attached to the fan exit stator. (2) Put the 636-1100-3GSE INLET COWL PROTECT COVER or equivalent and the MAT - PROTECTIVE in the inlet cowl.
(3) Remove the fan blades (Ref. AMM TASK 72-11-03-000-801).
(4) Remove the splitter (1) from the fan exit stator as follows:
(a) Remove the 16 screws (2).
(b) Use the PWA111199 PULLER, SLIDE equally all around to remove the splitter (1) from the stator.
(5) Examine the clip nuts on the stator for damage and correct attachment.
(a) If the clip nuts are damaged, replaced them (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-07-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-07-400-801).
(6) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
