A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

4. Procedure
Subtask 71-52-43-020-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Channel B Fire Detector Harness

Fire Detector Channel B Wire Harness ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Disconnect the electrical connector 454VC-A from the core junction box.
(2) Remove the two bolts (5) and open the two clamps (10) that attach the harnesses to the pylon. Remove the harness from the clamps. Install the bolt (5) and tighten it with your hand.
(3) Remove the screw (15) and washer (20). Open the clamp (25) that attaches the harness assemblies to the bracket and station 233. Remove harness from the clamp. Install the screw (15) and washer (20). Tighten the screw with your hand.
(4) Remove the screw (30), spacer (35) and lug (40) that attach the clamp (45) to the bracket at the top of the engine.

Fire Detector Channel B Wire Harness ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(Ref. Detail B).
(5) Remove the screw (50), washer (20) and nut (55) that attach the clamp (45) to the bracket at station 239.
(6) Remove the screw (15), washer (20), spacer (35) and lug (40) that attach the clamp (45) to the bracket at station 239.
(7) Remove the screw (15) and washer (20) that attach the clamp (45) to the bracket at station 239.
(8) Cut the lockwire and remove the screws (75) and the clamp (70) that attach the harness to the fire detector element 4001WD2-A.
(9) Remove the nut (60) that attaches the wire (65) to terminal A of the fire detector.
(10) Remove the nut (90) that attaches the wire (85) to terminal C of the fire detector.
(11) Remove the screw (95) and the washer (20) that attach the ground wire (80) to the bracket.
(12) Remove the fire detector channel B harness from the engine.
(13) Put CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connectors.
