A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

4. Procedure
Subtask 71-52-43-020-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Channel A Fire Detector Harness Assembly

Fire Detector Channel A Wire Harness ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Disconnect the electrical connector 452VC-A from the core junction box.
(2) Remove the two bolts (5) and open the two clamps (10) that attach the harnesses to the pylon. Remove the harness from the clamps. Install the bolt (5) and tighten it with your hand.
(3) Remove the screw (55) and washer (40) and open the clamp (60) that attaches the harness assemblies to the bracket and station 233. Remove the fire detector harness from the clamp. Install the screw (55) and washer (40). Tighten the screw with your hand.
(4) Remove the screw (15), the lug (20), the spacer (25) and the clamp (30) that attach the harness to the bracket at station 233.
(5) Remove the screws (35), washers (40), nuts (45) and clamps (50) that attach the harness to the brackets at station 239. (Two locations).
(6) Cut the lockwire and remove the screws (95) and the clamp (65) that attach the harness to the fire detector element 4001WD1-A.
(7) Remove the nut (75) that attaches the wire (70) to terminal C of the fire detector.
(8) Remove the nut (80) that attaches the wire (85) to terminal A of the fire detector.
(9) Remove the bolt (100) and the washers (40) that attach the ground wire (90) to the bracket.
(10) Remove the harness assembly from the engine.
(11) Put CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connectors.
