A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
(4) Make sure that the slats are retracted and install 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap and slat control lever.
(5) Make sure that 98D71203005000 RODS-FWD ENG MOUNT is installed on the engine.

A. Installation of the forward engine-mount thrust-link:
(1) Install the forward engine-mount thrust-link (30) on the cross beam assembly (24):
(b) Install the retainer (14) through the pin (25).
(c) Install the assembly made of pin (25) and the retainer (14) through the cross beam assembly (24).
1 The retainer (14) must be on the top of the cross beam assembly (24).
(d) Install the bolts (18), nuts (15) and washers (16) and (17) that attach the retainer (14) on the cross beam assembly (24).
(e) Install the retainer (19) with the bolts (18), nuts (15) and washers (16) and (17).
(f) TORQUE all the nuts (15) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
1 Apply torque stripes on all the nuts (15).
(2) Install the forward engine-mount thrust-link (30) on the engine bracket:
(a) Put the forward engine-mount thrust-link (30) in position on the engine bracket.
1 You must install the right upper bolt (5) and the washer (4) before you install the right (looking forward) engine-mount thrust-link (30) on the engine bracket.
(b) Install the pin (7), retainer (6), bolts (5), nuts (2) and washers (3) and (4).
(c) TORQUE all the nuts (2) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
1 Apply torque stripes on all the nuts (2).
5. Close-up(1) Install the forward engine-mount thrust-link (30) on the cross beam assembly (24):
NOTE: The installation of the hardware items that attach the forward engine-mount thrust-link (30) to the cross beam assembly (24) is the same at the two locations.
(a) Put the forward engine-mount thrust-link (30) in position on the cross beam assembly (24). (b) Install the retainer (14) through the pin (25).
(c) Install the assembly made of pin (25) and the retainer (14) through the cross beam assembly (24).
1 The retainer (14) must be on the top of the cross beam assembly (24).
(d) Install the bolts (18), nuts (15) and washers (16) and (17) that attach the retainer (14) on the cross beam assembly (24).
(e) Install the retainer (19) with the bolts (18), nuts (15) and washers (16) and (17).
(f) TORQUE all the nuts (15) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). 1 Apply torque stripes on all the nuts (15).
(2) Install the forward engine-mount thrust-link (30) on the engine bracket:
(a) Put the forward engine-mount thrust-link (30) in position on the engine bracket.
1 You must install the right upper bolt (5) and the washer (4) before you install the right (looking forward) engine-mount thrust-link (30) on the engine bracket.
(b) Install the pin (7), retainer (6), bolts (5), nuts (2) and washers (3) and (4).
(c) TORQUE all the nuts (2) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). 1 Apply torque stripes on all the nuts (2).

A. Remove the 98D71203005000 RODS-FWD ENG MOUNT from the engine.
(2) Remove the pip pins (38) and (46) from the forward and aft fitting assemblies.
(3) Remove the nut (36), the washer (37) and the aft rod end fitting (35) from the pylon fitting.
(4) Loosen the screws (44) and (45).
(5) Remove the V-groove plate (42) from the forward rod end fitting.
(6) Loosen the screws (43).
(7) Remove the upper plate (41) and the lower plate (40).
Subtask 71-21-12-410-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: It is permitted to do (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-20-400-802), as an alternative to step 5.A.(1) thru (7).
(1) Turn the rod (34) until the weight of the engine is on the forward engine mount (not the rod). (2) Remove the pip pins (38) and (46) from the forward and aft fitting assemblies.
(3) Remove the nut (36), the washer (37) and the aft rod end fitting (35) from the pylon fitting.
(4) Loosen the screws (44) and (45).
(5) Remove the V-groove plate (42) from the forward rod end fitting.
(6) Loosen the screws (43).
(7) Remove the upper plate (41) and the lower plate (40).
B. Close the thrust reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010):

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) On panel 114VU remove the locking tool from the flap and slat control lever.
