Installation of the Forward Engine-Mount RodsSubtask 71-21-11-941-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(4) Make sure that the slats are retracted and install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap and slat control lever.
Subtask 71-21-11-010-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:

Subtask 71-21-11-480-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
BEFORE OPENING THE THRUST REVERSER DOORS TO THE 45 DEGREES POSITION MAKE SURE THAT THE SLATS ARE RETRACTED. IF NOT THE SLATS CAN TOUCH THE INBOARD THRUST REVERSER DOOR.
(1) Open the thrust reverser doors to the 45-degree position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-040): (2) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.
E. Install the 98D71203003000 RODS-FWD ENG MOUNT.
(1) Install the link bar in the cowl stop tube.
(2) Install the fittings (10) on the link bar and tighten with the knurled nuts (15).
(3) Attach the rods (20) to the fittings (10) with the rigging pins.
(4) Put the fittings (30) in position on the fan casing frame. The recesses on the fittings (30) give you the correct location of the fittings. Attach the fittings (30) with the three screws.
(5) Adjust the length of the rods (20) and attach them to the fittings (30) with the rigging pins.
4. Procedure(1) Install the link bar in the cowl stop tube.
(2) Install the fittings (10) on the link bar and tighten with the knurled nuts (15).
(3) Attach the rods (20) to the fittings (10) with the rigging pins.
(4) Put the fittings (30) in position on the fan casing frame. The recesses on the fittings (30) give you the correct location of the fittings. Attach the fittings (30) with the three screws.
(5) Adjust the length of the rods (20) and attach them to the fittings (30) with the rigging pins.
Subtask 71-21-11-020-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Link Assemblies from the Support Assemblies
(1) Remove the nuts (20), bolts (5), washers (10 and 15) and retainers (65).
Subtask 71-21-11-020-057-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the nuts (20), bolts (5), washers (10 and 15) and retainers (65).
CAUTION:
THE SLIP FIT BUSHINGS (50) ARE PART OF THE LINK ASSEMBLIES (25). KEEP THE BUSHINGS (50) WITH THE LINK ASSEMBLIES (25).
(2) Remove the bolts (60), washers (55), link assemblies (25), bushings (50), retainers (45) and nuts (30 or 35) from the support assemblies (40). The slip fit bushings (50) are part of the link assemblies (25). Keep the bushings (50) with the link assemblies (25). B. Removal of the Link Assemblies from the Crossbeam Assembly
(1) Remove the nuts (110 and 145), washers (105, 120, 135 and 140), bolts (115 and 150), pin retainers (130), attach pins (125) and link assemblies (25) from the crossbeam assembly (210).

C. Removal of the Crossbeam Assembly from the Beam Assembly
(1) Remove the nuts (100), washers (75 and 95), spacers (85), bolts (70), pin retainers (80), attach pin (90) and crossbeam assembly (210) from the beam assembly.
