Subtask 71-13-14-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

C. Removal of the jointing compound
   (1) Remove the jointing compound.
     (a) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with V01-076Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade, to remove the used jointing compound from:
       1 the latches (6).
       2 the screws (5).
     (b) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to make the above items dry.

D. Make sure the latches (6) have no damage.

E. Install the parts to the replacement chip detector door
   (1) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) to the mating surfaces of the latches (6).
   (2) Apply the V04-005 jointing compound (Ref. 70-30-00) below the screw heads (5) and assemble while still wet.
   (3) Put the latches on to the replacement door (1) and attach with the washers (4) and the nuts (3).
   (4) TORQUE the nuts (3) to between 13.2 and 10.8 lbf.in (0.15 and 0.12 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (5) Remove all unwanted jointing compound with a clean lint free cloth.

F. Removal of the jointing compound
   (1) Remove the jointing compound
     (a) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with V01-076Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade, to remove the used jointing compound from the fan cowl.
     (b) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to make the above items dry.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-13-14-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Install the chip detector door
   (1) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) , to the mating surface of the door hinge.
   (2) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) below the bolt heads (7) and assemble while still wet.
   (3) Put the door (1) in its opening in the fan cowl and attach with the washers (8) and the nuts (9).
   (4) TORQUE the nuts (9) to between 110 and 90 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.02 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (5) Remove all unwanted jointing compound with a clean lint free cloth.
   (6) Close the door and lock the latches.
Subtask 71-13-14-220-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Make a check of the clearance around the chip detector door
   (1) Make sure the door is closed.
   (2) Measure the clearance around the edges of the door and its opening in the fan cowl.
   (3) If the clearance is not between 0.055 in. (1.40 mm) and 0.110 in. (2.80 mm), reject the door.

C. Prepare to install the oil filler access door replacement latches
   (1) Removal of the jointing compound
     (a) Remove the jointing compound
     (b) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with V01-076Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade, to remove all used jointing compound from the oil filler access door.
     (c) Use a clean lint free cloth to make the area dry.

D. Install the Oil Filler Access Door Replacement Latches

   (1) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) , to the mating surfaces of the latches (6).
   (2) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) to below the heads of the screws (5) and assemble while still wet.
   (3) Put the replacement latches (6) in position on the door (2) and attach with the washers (4) and the nuts (3).
   (4) TORQUE the nuts (3) to to between 13.2 and 10.8 lbf.in (0.15 and 0.12 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (5) Make sure that the latch mechanism can move freely.
   (6) Remove all unwanted jointing compound with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (7) Close the door and lock the latches (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-14-410-801).

   (8) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) to the mating surfaces of the latches (10).
   (9) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) to below the heads of the screws (5) and assemble while still wet.
   (10) Put the replacement latches (10) in position on the door (2) and attach with the washers (4) and the nuts (3).
   (11) TORQUE the nuts (3) to between 13.2 and 10.8 lbf.in (0.15 and 0.12 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).

   (12) Make sure that the mechanism can move freely before adjustment of the latches (10).
   (13) Remove all unwanted jointing compound with a clean lint free cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (14) Set the screw height to get a tension to between 4 lbf (1.78 daN) and 8 lbf (3.56 daN).
   (15) TORQUE the jam nut to between 38.5 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.44 and 0.36 m.daN ) T.
   (16) Safety the jam nut.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Safety the jam nut with lockwire (Material No.
V02-147) .

   (17) Rig the oil filler door latches (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-14-820-801).

   (18) Make sure that three of the latches engage on the striker plate a minimum of 0.40 in. (10.16 mm) and the remaining latch a minimum of 0.35 in. (8.89 mm).
   (19) Close the door and lock the latches (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-14-410-801).

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
