Close the Fan Cowl Oil Filler Access Door
1. Reason for the Job
This procedure supplies the information to close the oil filler access door.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
4. Procedure(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

A. Close the Oil Filler Door

(1) Close the oil filler door.
(2) Push each latch handle (1) until it clicks into the closed position and is flush with the fan cowl door.
(3) Lightly push the latch handle (1) with your finger to make sure that the latch does not open and is fully engaged.

(4) Close the oil filler door.
(5) Push each latch handle (1) until it clicks into the closed position and is flush with the fan cowl door and until the fluorescent orange indicator on the latch trigger is no longer visible.
(6) If the latch is not fully flush with the fan cowl door or the orange indicator is still visible, push the latch handle again until the latch clicks.

5. Close-upPRE SB71-0321
(1) Close the oil filler door.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT ALL LATCHES ARE IN THE DISENGAGED POSITION BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE OIL FILLER DOOR. IF THE LATCHES ARE NOT CORRECTLY DISENGAGED BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE DOOR, IT IS POSSIBLE TO ENGAGE THE LATCHES INCORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO BREAK OFF AND CAUSE INJURY.
(a) Close the oil filler door (2) against the fan cowl door. (2) Push each latch handle (1) until it clicks into the closed position and is flush with the fan cowl door.
(3) Lightly push the latch handle (1) with your finger to make sure that the latch does not open and is fully engaged.
NOTE: If latch handle is not fully flush with the fan cowl, it may not be fully locked.

(4) Close the oil filler door.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT ALL LATCHES ARE IN THE DISENGAGED POSITION BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE OIL FILLER DOOR. IF THE LATCHES ARE NOT CORRECTLY DISENGAGED BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE DOOR, IT IS POSSIBLE TO ENGAGE THE LATCHES INCORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO BREAK OFF AND CAUSE INJURY.
(a) Close the oil filler door (2) against the fan cowl door. (5) Push each latch handle (1) until it clicks into the closed position and is flush with the fan cowl door and until the fluorescent orange indicator on the latch trigger is no longer visible.
(6) If the latch is not fully flush with the fan cowl door or the orange indicator is still visible, push the latch handle again until the latch clicks.
NOTE: Steps 4.A.(5) and 4.A.(6) can be achieved either by pushing each latch handle by hand or by inserting a SCREWDRIVER - SMALL in the slot of each latch handle (1) and closing each latch using sufficient force.

NOTE: Make sure that all the latches are fully closed and flush with the oil filler door and that the oil filler door is flush with the fan cowl door before you do step 5.
