Installation of the Fan-Cowl Door Keeper
1. Reason for the Job
NOTE: SBN71-0331 (equivalence to Airbus service bulletin SB 71-1069) introduces a lockable latch in the forward position (latch No. 1) that must be opened and closed and locked with a key and flag assembly. The key and flag assembly are stowed in the cockpit and must not be used if there is damage to the key or flag.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-13-13-010-067-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

A. Installation of the Keepers in the Keeper Housings
(1) Install the number 1 keeper (6) on the keeper housing (5) in the correct position as shown for installation with the bolts (3), the washers (2), and the nuts (1). Make sure the fins point outboard after installation.
(3) TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 35.0 and 30.0 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.34 m.daN )

(4) Do a check of the in-to or out-of wind step of the latch handles (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-800-012).
5. Close-up(1) Install the number 1 keeper (6) on the keeper housing (5) in the correct position as shown for installation with the bolts (3), the washers (2), and the nuts (1). Make sure the fins point outboard after installation.
NOTE: The keeper (6) must be installed with a lockable latch in the number 1 position (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-13-400-803).
(2) Install the number 2, 3 and 4 keepers (4) on the keeper housings (5) in the correct position as shown for installation with the bolts (3), the washers (2), and the nuts (1). (3) TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 35.0 and 30.0 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.34 m.daN )
. (4) Do a check of the in-to or out-of wind step of the latch handles (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-800-012).
Subtask 71-13-13-410-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

(3) Do a check of the latch tension (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-800-010).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(3) Do a check of the latch tension (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-800-010).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
