Installation of the Hinge 1A Extension Fairing
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3) On the panel 400VU :

(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3) On the panel 400VU :
- make sure that the landing-gear control lever (6GA) is in the down position
- make sure that the warning notice is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing-gear controls.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is in position on the flap/slat control-lever.
(2) Make sure that a ground lock sleeve is on the applicable MLG lockstay actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is on the applicable MLG door actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position below the applicable zone.
Subtask 57-55-11-865-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is in position on the flap/slat control-lever.

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and/or the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and/or the adjacent areas.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 57-55-11-420-076-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interfaces and/or the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and/or the adjacent areas.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
B. Installation of the Hinge 1A Extension Fairing
(1) To install the hinge 1A extension fairing if you have not replaced the fixed fairing.
(a) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the components that follow :
(c) Loosely install the washer (2) and the bolt (3) in the extension fairing (1).
(d) Find the three black lines on the fixed fairing and put the extension fairing (1) on them.
(e) Loosely install the washers (4) and the bolts (5).
(f) Adjust the extension fairing (1) to be in the black lines.
(g) TORQUE the bolts (3) and (5) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )

(h) Apply a thin layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) to the heads of the bolts (3) and (5).
(2) To install the hinge 1A extension fairing if you have installed a new fixed fairing.
(a) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the components that follow :
(c) Loosely install the washer (2) and the bolt (3) in the extension fairing (1).
(d) Put the extension fairing (1) on the fixed fairing.
(e) Loosely install the washers (4) and the bolts (5).
(f) Adjust the extension fairing and paint three black lines (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-14-400-002).
(g) TORQUE the bolts (3) and (5) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )

(2) To install the hinge 1A extension fairing if you have installed a new fixed fairing.

- the washers (2) and (4)
- the bolts (3) and (5).

(d) Put the extension fairing (1) on the fixed fairing.
(e) Loosely install the washers (4) and the bolts (5).
(f) Adjust the extension fairing and paint three black lines (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-14-400-002).
(g) TORQUE the bolts (3) and (5) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control-lever.
(3) Remove the safety devices and close the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control-lever.
