A. Safety Precautions
(1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3) On the panel 400VU:

make sure that the landing-gear control-lever (6GA) is in the DOWN position
put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gears.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that a ground lock sleeve is installed on the applicable MLG lockstay actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position at zone 733(743).

A. Preparation for Removal
(1) Examine the area around the extension fairing (1) for the black painted lines.
(2) If you cannot find the black painted lines, paint three black lines in the correct position (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-14-400-002).

B. Removal of the Hinge 1A Extension Fairing.
(1) Hold the extension fairing (1).
(2) Remove the bolts (5), the washers (4), the bolt (3), and the washer (2).
(3) Remove the extension fairing (1).
