   (1) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to move the slats or flaps.
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Fully extend the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
   (2) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the slat/flap control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).

   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the wing leading edge, zone 522 (622).
   (2) Remove the applicable access panels:
  • For the left wing, remove 522SB
  • For the right wing, remove 622SB.

A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the applicable inspection area.

B. Detailed Inspection of Front Spar Joint at RIB 24, FWD Face
   (1) Examine the applicable inspection area and make sure that:
  • There is no corrosion
  • There is no damage
  • There are no scratches or scores
  • There are no loose or damaged fasteners
  • The surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable access panels:
  • For the left wing, install 522SB
  • For the right wing, install 622SB.

   (1) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002).
   (2) Retract the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-005).

D. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the safety barriers.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
