(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

(1) Fully extend the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
(2) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the slat/flap control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).

(2) Remove the applicable access panels:

for the left wing, remove 522QB 522SB 522UB
for the right wing, remove 622QB 622SB 622UB.

A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the forward face of the front spar and all cutouts (RIB22 thru RIB27).

B. Detailed Inspection of Outer Wing, Front Spar, Forward Face between RIB 22 and RIB 27, including all Cutouts
(1) Examine the applicable inspection area. Make sure that:

There is no corrosion or damage
There are no scratches, or scores
There are no loose or damaged fasteners
The surface protection is in the correct condition.

NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable access panels:

for the left wing, install 522QB 522SB 522UB
for the right wing, install 622QB 622SB 622UB.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(1) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever. (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002)
(2) Retract the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-005).

(1) Remove the safety barriers.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
