3. Job Set-up
Subtask 54-57-17-941-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Removal of Components
(1) Remove the thrust reverser half doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-000-040), (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-11-000-002).

C. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position.
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 415
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 425.
(2) Remove the lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-001):
(a) For the left pylon: 415AL 415AR
(b) For the right pylon: 425AL 425AR.

4. Procedure
Subtask 54-57-17-020-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Fitting at RIB1 and RIB2

Thrust Reverser Cowl Fitting at RIB 1 and RIB 2 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

NOTE: The removal of Rib1 is the same as for Rib2.

(1) Loosen the nuts (8) and (10).
(2) Remove the nuts (8) and (10) and the washers (7).
(3) Remove the bolts (3) and the washers (4).
(4) Remove the thrust reverser cowl fitting (2) and the shim (5) from the pylon structure (6).

NOTE: Record the position of the shim (5) and the location and thickness of the peel washers (9) installed on the shim (5).
Do this to put the shim (5) in the same position for the installation.
