Removal of the Aft Movable-Fairing Seals

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 54-55-41-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
(2) Set the flap and slat control lever to the FULL position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
Subtask 54-55-41-860-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
(2) Set the flap and slat control lever to the FULL position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).
(2) Set the flap and slat control lever to the FULL position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
Subtask 54-55-41-010-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).
(2) Set the flap and slat control lever to the FULL position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.
(2) Remove the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
(a) For the left pylon: 477AL
(b) For the right pylon: 487AR.
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.
(2) Remove the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
(a) For the left pylon: 477AL
(b) For the right pylon: 487AR.

A. Removal of the Aft Movable-Fairing Seals
(1) Remove and discard the seals (2), (5) and (8) from the retainers.
Subtask 54-55-41-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove and discard the seals (2), (5) and (8) from the retainers.
A. Removal of the Aft Movable-Fairing Seals
(1) Remove the screws (1) and (8) from the retainers (3), (6) and (10).
(2) Remove and discard the seals (2), (7) and (9) from the retainers (3), (6) and (10).
(3) Remove the retainers (3), (6) and (10).
(4) Remove and discard the rear seal (5) from the retainer (4).
Subtask 54-55-41-020-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the screws (1) and (8) from the retainers (3), (6) and (10).
(2) Remove and discard the seals (2), (7) and (9) from the retainers (3), (6) and (10).
(3) Remove the retainers (3), (6) and (10).
(4) Remove and discard the rear seal (5) from the retainer (4).
