A. Safety Precautions
(1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.

(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

C. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.

D. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If it is not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

A. Inspection of the Karman Fairing Fire-Seals

Karman Fairing Fire-Seals ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Do a detailed inspection of the Karman fairing fire-seals.
(2) Make sure that there is no wear, damage or deterioration.
(3) If you find wear, damage or deterioration, replace the damaged seals:
(a) For the fire seals of the pylon-to-wing center fillets (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-300-801).
(b) For the fire seals of the Rear Pylon Fairing (RPF) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-11-300-801).

A. Reactivation of the Thrust Reverser
(1) Make the thrust reverser serviceable after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-805).

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
