E. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) in position at zone 320.
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
WARNING: LOCK THE MECHANISM OF THE ACCESS DOOR 316AR WITH THE PIP PIN WHEN YOU OPEN THE ACCESS DOOR. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY.
   (3) Open access doors:
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-58-11-020-065-A
A. Removal of the Electrical Systems
   (1) Disconnect electrical connectors 7120VC-A/1M and 7118VC-A/1S.
   (2) Disconnect electrical connectors 7116VC and 11LJ.
   (3) Disconnect the electrical wiring from switch 8QC.
   (4) Disconnect the electrical connector:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Disconnect electrical connector 11WF-A.
     (b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (5) Disconnect the electrical connector:
WARNING: BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT. IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.
     (a) Disconnect electrical connector 12WF-A from cartridge 12WF.
     (b) Install the MS25043-10DA CARTRIDGE CAP or the 6971-0010 CAP SHUNT-FIRE BOTTLE on cartridge 12WF.
     (c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (6) Disconnect electrical harnesses 6761VN/DC1, 6760VN/B1, 6528VN/DC2 and 6757VN/DC1.
   (7) Remove the clamps from electrical harnesses 4213VB/1M and 4207VB/1M, from the fuselage-tail cone side to FR77.
   (8) Remove and discard the lockwire:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Remove and discard the lockwire from electrical connector 7138VC/3E at APU firewall FR80.
   (9) Disconnect electrical connector 7138VC/3E.
   (10) Remove the clamps from electrical harness 4210VB/3E between FR77 and FR80.
   (11) Disconnect electrical harness 7519VP at FR77.
   (12) Disconnect electrical connectors 21WG-A and 22WG-A.
   (13) Remove electrical cable 6750VN/DC1.
   (14) Remove the clamps from electrical harnesses 4213VB/1M and 4631VB/1M, from the fuselage-tail cone side to FR77.
   (15) Disconnect electrical harnesses 6533VN/DC1 and 4643VB/3P and remove the clamps between FR78 and FR79.
   (16) Disconnect electrical connector 7527VC and remove the clamps from their electrical cable, from the fuselage-tail cone side to FR77.
   (17) Disconnect the cable lugs of electrical harness 4622VB/3G from terminal block 7508VT and remove the clamps between FR77 and FR79.
   (18) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.

B. Disconnection of the Bleed Air Duct
   (1) Remove the overheat sensing element 19HF (Ref. AMM TASK 36-22-17-000-001).
   (2) Remove the insulating sleeve (2), the insulation lock sleeve (12) and the insulating sleeve (11).
   (3) Remove the nuts (5), the washers (6) and the bolts (7) and disconnect the rod assembly (8) from the bleed air duct (13).
   (4) Remove the nuts (17), the washers (16), the screws (15) and the bonding strap (14) from the bleed air duct (13).
   (5) Remove the V-clamp (1) and move the bleed air duct (4) forward.
   (6) Remove and discard the air seal (9) from the bleed air duct (4).
   (7) Put COVER - PLASTIC on the open ends of the bleed air ducts.
Subtask 53-58-11-020-073-A
C. Disconnection of the hydraulic hoses 1102GM, 1103GM, 3102GM and 3103GM:
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) in position to collect the unwanted hydraulic fluid.
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (2) Disconnect the hose assemblies.
   (3) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (4) Remove the container.

D. Drain the APU Fuel Line
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) below the APU vent and drain valve (87) and prepare to drain the unwanted fuel.
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (2) Remove the cap (86) from the vent and drain valve (87) and install the 98A28007570000 ADAPTER - VENT AND DRAIN VALVE, APU (85).
   (3) Drain the fuel into the container.
NOTE: Fuel will stay in the APU feed hose (upstream of the drain valve, AFT of FR80) after you drain the fuel from the drain valve.
   (4) Remove the container.
Subtask 53-58-11-020-075-A
E. Disconnection of the APU fuel line
   (1) Remove the nuts (49), the washers (44) and the bolts (43) and remove the bonding straps (32), (46) and (53).
   (2) Remove and discard the lockwire from the retaining rings (34) and remove the retaining rings.
   (3) Remove the bolts (40), nuts (41) and washers (42) and remove the clamp (52).
   (4) Move the sleeve (54) forward over the shroud (38).
   (5) Disconnect the nut (35) from the union (36) and install the 98D28207510000 SLIDE CONE - APU FUEL.
   (6) Remove the sleeve (54) and the shroud (38) from the fuel hose (37).
   (7) Remove and discard the O-rings (51) from the shrouds (38) and (33).
   (8) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (9) Temporarily attach the hose (37) to the aircraft structure at FR77.

F. Removal of the APU Air-Intake Flap
   (1) Remove the APU air-intake flap (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-43-000-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-43-000-003).

G. Installation of the Tail Cone sling
   (1) Put the CRANE 1000KG (2200 LB) with the 98A55308440000 SLING-UNIVERSAL,TAIL PLANE and a SCALE 1000 KG (2200 LB) in position.
   (2) Remove the self-adhesive discs which cover the tail-cone hoisting points.
NOTE: If you find hoisting lugs, do not use them with this sling.
   (3) Attach the cables to the hoist fittings. When you remove the tail-cone use a scale and monitor the weight. Do not lift with more than 600 kg (1323 lb).
   (4) Operate the CRANE 1000KG (2200 LB) and slowly tighten the sling cables, adjust as necessary to get an equal tension on the cables.
Subtask 53-58-11-020-078-A
H. Disconnection of the Tail Cone
   (1) Remove the screws (68) and the access covers (69).
   (2) Remove the nuts (74), the bolts (75) and the washers (76) and disconnect the bonding straps (71).
   (3) Make sure that the sling is correctly installed on the tail cone.
   (4) Remove and discard the cotter pins (73).
   (5) Remove the nuts (72) from the bolts (70).
   (6) Install the 98A53407566005 EXTRACTOR - ATTACH. BOLTS, TAIL CONE together with the installation adaptors (77).
NOTE: The extractor with part number 98A53407566005 is an alternative to the extractor with part number 98A53407566002. If only the extractor with part number 98A53407566002 is available, then it is recommended to use it.
   (7) Remove the bolts (70) from the upper fittings and the lower fittings. Make sure that you remove the bolts (70) from the lower fittings first.
   (8) Carefully disengage the tail cone from the aircraft.
   (9) Carefully operate the crane to lower and put the tail cone on the 98V53809003000 TRESTLE-SUPP,TAIL CONE.
   (10) Remove the hoisting equipment.
