A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On all emergency oxygen containers, do step (a) and/or step (b) as applicable:
     (a) Pull out the test button with your fingers. Then turn it 90 degrees to the TEST position.
     (b) Push the left side of the test button on the door assembly.
NOTE: The over-center spring keeps the lever of the test button at 90 degrees to the door surface. The lever of the test button must stay in this position until you set it manually back to the initial position.
   (2) Remove the 995000-00 TOOL-MANUAL RELEASE from its stowage position.
NOTE: It is permitted to use alternative tool P/N 995000.
   (3) Do the steps (a) thru (c) for each oxygen container:
     (a) Put the 995000-00 TOOL-MANUAL RELEASE into the access hole in the oxygen container door.
     (b) Push the tool in until the latch is released. The door opens to the maximum travel permitted for the test.
     (c) Close the door of the emergency oxygen containers:
CAUTION: DO NOT USE TOO MUCH FORCE TO CLOSE THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN CONTAINER. IF YOU USE TOO MUCH FORCE, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LATCH MECHANISM. IF THE LATCH MECHANISM DOES NOT ENGAGE EASILY, MAKE SURE THAT THE EQUIPMENT IN THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN CONTAINER IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
1 Push the door of the emergency oxygen container to the closed position.
2 Push the door of the emergency oxygen container, at the both sides of the test button, to lock the latch mechanism.
3 Make sure that the door is flush with the adjacent panels.
   (4) On all emergency oxygen containers, do step (a) and/or step (b) as applicable:
     (a) Turn the test buttons 90 degrees to the normal position.
NOTE: Spring tension will retract the test buttons when they are in the normal position.

     (b) Push the test buttons back to the normal position and let them retract into their containers.
NOTE: Spring tension retracts the test buttons automatically when they are in the normal position.
   (5) Put the 995000-00 TOOL-MANUAL RELEASE in its stowage position.
   (6) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
