C. Get Access
(1) In the cockpit, put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
(2) Put on a safety harness:
(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 324.
(4) Remove vertical stabilizer tip 324AT (Ref. AMM TASK 55-34-11-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) In the cockpit, put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
(2) Put on a safety harness:
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
(a) Put on and attach a 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY before you start work in the work area. (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 324.
(4) Remove vertical stabilizer tip 324AT (Ref. AMM TASK 55-34-11-000-001).
Subtask 34-55-11-020-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the VOR Antenna
(1) Solution 1 (VOR antenna S/N 001-331):
(a) Disconnect the coaxial cable connectors (2) from the antenna connectors (3).
(b) Remove sealant from the head of the screws (5) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(c) Remove the screws (5), washers (4) and antenna (1).
(2) Solution 2 (VOR antenna S/N 332 and subsequent):
(a) Disconnect the coaxial cable connectors (2) from the antenna connectors (3).
(b) Remove the sealant from the head of the screws (5) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(c) Remove the screws (5), washers (4), isolation washers (6) and antenna (1).
(d) If necessary, remove the isolation washers from the bottom of the antenna (1).
(3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
Subtask 34-55-11-020-051-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Solution 1 (VOR antenna S/N 001-331):
(a) Disconnect the coaxial cable connectors (2) from the antenna connectors (3).
(b) Remove sealant from the head of the screws (5) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(c) Remove the screws (5), washers (4) and antenna (1).
(2) Solution 2 (VOR antenna S/N 332 and subsequent):
(a) Disconnect the coaxial cable connectors (2) from the antenna connectors (3).
(b) Remove the sealant from the head of the screws (5) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(c) Remove the screws (5), washers (4), isolation washers (6) and antenna (1).
(d) If necessary, remove the isolation washers from the bottom of the antenna (1).
(3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
A. Removal of the VOR Antenna
(1) Disengage the coaxial cable connectors (6) from the clamps (5).
(2) Disconnect the coaxial cable connectors (6) from the VOR antenna connectors (7).
(3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(4) Remove the sealant from the head of the bolt (2) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(5) Remove the bolts (1) and (2) and the washers (4).
(6) Remove the VOR antenna (3).
(1) Disengage the coaxial cable connectors (6) from the clamps (5).
(2) Disconnect the coaxial cable connectors (6) from the VOR antenna connectors (7).
(3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(4) Remove the sealant from the head of the bolt (2) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(5) Remove the bolts (1) and (2) and the washers (4).
(6) Remove the VOR antenna (3).
