WARNING: WHEN YOU INSTALL THE EMERGENCY LIGHT OR THE LIGHT LENS, MAKE SURE THAT IT POINTS TO THE FLOOR. IF IT DOES NOT POINT TO THE FLOOR, THERE IS A RISK THAT, DURING EVACUATION: - THE PASSENGERS WILL GET THE LIGHT IN THEIR EYES - THE PASSENGERS WILL NOT SEE THE EMERGENCY ESCAPE PATH CORRECTLY.

3. Job Set-up

CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE TEACH-IN PROCEDURE TO CLEAR EPSU FAILURE MESSAGES. THE TEACH-IN PROCEDURE IS NOT A SYSTEM RESET. IT CAN CHANGE THE EMERGENCY LIGHT CONFIGURATION AND CAUSE HIDDEN FAILURES.

NOTE: The teach-in procedure of the EPSUs measures and keeps the load values that are related to each EPSU. The EPSU controller refers to these load values when the BITE test of the emergency lighting system operates. Thus, it is necessary that the emergency lights of the related EPSUs operate correctly during the teach-in procedure.

Subtask 33-51-11-860-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL is in the OFF position.
(2) On the overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the NO SMOKING switch 190RH is in the OFF position.
(3) On the Forward Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH, make sure that the LIGHT EMER pushbutton switch and its integral lights are off.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On overhead panel 25VU, make sure that EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL is in the OFF position.
(2) On overhead panel 25VU, make sure that NO SMOKING switch 190RH is in the OFF position.
(3) On Flight Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH, make sure that the EMER pushbutton and its light are off.

4. Procedure
Subtask 33-51-11-910-050-A

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

Subtask 33-51-11-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

CAUTION: REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

B. Installation of the Cabin Emergency Light

Cabin Emergency Light ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Installation of the Cabin Emergency-Light Assembly mounted in the Ceiling
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Connect the electrical connector (2) to the light housing (5).
(c) Install the light housing (5) with the screws (1).
(d) Install the lens (4) to the light housing (5).
Make sure that you hear a click when the lens (4) locks in position.
(2) Installation of the Cabin Emergency-Light Assembly mounted in the Door-Area
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Connect the electrical connectors (8) to the light housing (7).
(c) Install the light housing (7).
Make sure that you hear a click when the light housing (7) locks in position.
(d) Install the lens (6) to the light housing (7).
Make sure that you hear a click when the lens (6) locks in position.
(3) Installation of the Bulb(s) of the Cabin Emergency Light
(a) Install the bulb(s) (3) and (10) in the light housing (5) and (7).
(b) Install the lens (4) and (6) to the light housing (5) and (7).
Make sure that you hear a click when the lens (4) and (6) locks in position.

B. Installation of the Cabin Emergency Light

Cabin Emergency Light ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Installation of the Cabin Emergency-Light Assembly mounted in the Ceiling
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Connect the electrical connector (2) to the light housing (4).
(c) Install the light housing (4) with the screws (1).
(d) Install the lens (3) to the light housing (4).
Make sure that you hear a click when the lens (3) locks in position.
(2) Installation of the Cabin Emergency-Light Assembly mounted in the Door-Area
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Connect the electrical connectors (7) and (9) to the light housing (6) and (10).
(c) Install the light housing (6) and (10).
Make sure that you hear a click when the light housing (6) and (10) locks in position.
(d) Install the lens (5) and (12) to the light housing (6) and (10).
Make sure that you hear a click when the lens (5) and (12) locks in position.

CAUTION: REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

B. Installation of the Cabin Emergency Light

Cabin Emergency Light ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

CAUTION: WHEN YOU INSTALL THE LIGHT HOUSING, REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS ON THE ATTACHMENT CLIPS OF THE LIGHT HOUSING MADE DURING THE REMOVAL. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE LIGHT HOUSING BECAUSE OF INCORRECT INSTALLATION.

(c) Install the light housing (6).
Make sure that you hear a click when the light housing (6) locks in position.
(d) Install the lens (5) to the light housing (6).
Make sure that you hear a click when the lens (5) locks in position.

CAUTION: REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

B. Installation of the cabin emergency light

Cabin Emergency Light ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Installation of the cabin emergency-light assembly installed in the ceiling
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Connect the electrical connectors (4) to the faston tabs (1).
(c) Install the light housing (2) on the wall panel.
Make sure that you hear a click when the light housing (2) locks in position.
(2) Installation of the Cabin Emergency-Light Assembly installed in the Door-Area
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Connect the electrical connectors (7) and (9) to the light housing (6) and (10).

(c) Install the light housings (6) and (10).
Make sure that you hear a click when the light housing (6) and (10) locks in position.
(d) Install the lens (5) and (12) on the light housing (6) and (10).
Make sure that you hear a click when the lens (5) and (12) locks in position.

B. Installation of the Cabin Emergency Light

Cabin Emergency Light ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Installation of the Cabin Emergency-Light Assembly installed in the Ceiling
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Connect the electrical connectors (4) to the Faston tabs (1).
(c) Install the light housing (2) on the wall panel.
Make sure that you hear a click when the light housing (2) locks in position.
(2) Installation of the Cabin Emergency-Light Assembly installed in the Door-Area
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Connect the electrical connectors (7) to the light housing (6).

(c) Install the light housing (6).
Make sure that you hear a click when the light housing (6) locks in position.
(d) Install the lens (5) on the light housing (6).
Make sure that you hear a click when the lens (5) locks in position.

C. Installation of the Escape Hatch-Handle Light

Cabin Emergency Light - Escape-Hatch Handle Lighting ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Installation of the Escape Hatch-Handle Light-Assembly
(a) Install the escape hatch-handle light (15).
Make sure that you hear a click when the escape hatch-handle light (15) locks in position.
(b) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.

CAUTION: REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(c) Connect the electrical connectors (19) to the escape-hatch handle light (15).
(2) Installation of the Bulb(s) of the Escape Hatch-Handle Light
(a) Install the bulb(s) (16) in the light housing.
(b) Install the lens (17) to the light housing.

2.In the cockpit, on SIGNS panel 25VU: Set EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL to the OFF position.	In the cockpit, on SIGNS panel 25VU: EMER EXIT LT OFF annunciator 5WL comes on. In the cabin: The related emergency light goes off.
