LUBRICATION - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-42-71-941-051-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On the panel 400VU:
  • make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
  • make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the brakes.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the applicable MLG wheel is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-11-000-006).
   (2) Make sure the applicable brake unit is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-27-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-42-71-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a clean lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Apply a thin layer of:
  • the Mineral Oil base Grease-General Purpose Medium Temp. - (Material No.03FBB1) or
  • the Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or
  • the Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or
  • Synthetic Oil base Grease-Landing Gear Wheel Bearing Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GCB1)
    to the axle (1) and to the inner face of the axle sleeve (2).
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).

Subtask 32-42-71-420-052-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a clean lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Apply a thin layer of:
  • the Mineral Oil base Grease-General Purpose Medium Temp. - (Material No.03FBB1) or
  • the Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or
  • the Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or
  • Synthetic Oil base Grease-Landing Gear Wheel Bearing Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GCB1)
    to the axle (1) and to the inner face of the axle sleeve (2).
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).

B. Installation of the MLG Axle Adaptor-Sleeve
   (1) Install the axle sleeve (2) on the axle (1) and install the retaining ring (3).
NOTE: Make sure that the retaining ring is correctly installed in the groove of the axle.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable brake unit (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-27-400-001).
   (3) Install the applicable MLG wheel (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-11-400-006).

B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
