Replacement of the Protective Plates
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Get Access
(1) Open the nose gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position.

(1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the landing gear control-lever to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

A. Replacement of the Protective Plates
(1) Removal of the protective plates
(a) Make a mark on the bar assy (1) at the location of the two protective plates (2). This will help correct installation.
(b) Remove and discard the protective plates (2) from the bar assy (1).
(c) Remove the remaining glue from the bar assy (1) with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
(2) Preparation for installation
(a) Make sure that the bar assy (1) is clean.
(b) Lightly rub the protective plates (2) with Scotch Brite Pads Abrasive-- Scotch Brite Pads - (Material No.14FAB1) . (2).
(3) Installation of the protective plates
(a) Apply Low density compound-- High temperature curing Structure (Material No.13GAC2) on the bar assy (1) where you will install the protective plates (2).
(b) Apply Low density compound-- High temperature curing Structure (Material No.13GAC2) on new AIPC 32-42-01-02-110 PROTECTIVE PLATES (2).
(c) Install the protective plates (2) on the bar assy (1) at the correct location.
(d) Apply a pressure of 1 bar (14.5 psi) for one minute on the protective plates (2) and the bar assy (1).
(e) Clean the protective plates (2) and the bar assy (1) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to remove the unwanted compound.
(f) Apply on the protective plates (2) and the bar assy (1) for 120 minutes:

(b) Apply Low density compound-- High temperature curing Structure (Material No.13GAC2) on new AIPC 32-42-01-02-110 PROTECTIVE PLATES (2).
(c) Install the protective plates (2) on the bar assy (1) at the correct location.
(d) Apply a pressure of 1 bar (14.5 psi) for one minute on the protective plates (2) and the bar assy (1).
(e) Clean the protective plates (2) and the bar assy (1) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to remove the unwanted compound.
(f) Apply on the protective plates (2) and the bar assy (1) for 120 minutes:
- a pressure between 0.15 bar and 0.35 bar (2.175 psi and 5.075 psi)
- a temperature of 65 deg.C. (149 deg.F.).

A. Close Access
(1) Remove the access platform(s).
(2) Close the nose gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
