Removal of the Check Valve Restrictor Tubes (for Engine 2)


WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

This task is effective post SB RA32178-1
This task is for the removal of the check valve restrictor tubes for engine 2 1000EM2. For the removal of the check valve restrictor tubes for engine 1 1000EM1 (Ref.Task 29-11-49-000-00700).

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-13-49-860-081-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
   (2) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • on the ground service panel 198CB.
   (4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine 2.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 2 shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
   (4) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/2 pushbutton switch is off.
   (5) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 2.
   (6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the tee fitting on the upper case drain tube.

D. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan-cowl doors:
- 447AL 448AR (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
   (2) Open the access door 195BB.
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-49-020-068-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Check Valve Restrictor Tubes
   (1) Disconnect the tube (15) from the tee fitting on the upper case drain tube. Let the fluid drain into the container below the tee fitting.
   (2) Remove the bolt (5), washer (20), nut (25), and clamp (10) that attach the tube (15) to the bracket at engine flange STA185 (B5).
   (3) Remove the bolt (5), washer (20), nut (25), and clamp (10) that attach the tube (15) to the bracket at engine flange STA199 (A2).
   (4) Disconnect the tube (30) from the tube (15).
   (5) Remove the bolts (5), washers (20), nuts (25), and clamps (10) that attach the tube (30) to the brackets at engine flange STA199 (A2). (3 locations)
   (6) Disconnect the tube (30) from the HCU.
   (7) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the tubes, the HCU, and the tee fitting.
   (8) Remove the tubes (15) and (30) from the engine.
   (9) Remove the container from below the tee fitting.
