Removal of the Hydraulic Low-Pressure Switch Tube


WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-13-49-860-077-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002)
   (2) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • on the ground service panel 198CB.
   (4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
   (4) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
   (5) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic low-pressure switch tube (15) to collect the remaining fluid.

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the left fan-cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
open the door 447AL.
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.

4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-49-020-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Hydraulic Low-Pressure Switch Tube

PRE SB RA32029-13
   (1) Disconnect the low-pressure switch tube (15) from the pressure hose/tube and let the fluid flow in the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
NOTE: Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the fitting on the pressure hose/tube when you loosen the coupling nut on the tube.
   (2) Disconnect the low-pressure switch tube (15) from the hydraulic low-pressure switch.
NOTE: Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the pressure switch when you loosen the coupling nut on the tube.
   (3) Remove the bolts (5) and the washers (10) that attach the clamps (20) to the channel. Remove the clamps (20) from the low-pressure switch tube (15).
   (4) Remove the low-pressure switch tube (15) from the engine.
   (5) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the low-pressure switch tube (15), the fitting on the pressure hose/tube and the hydraulic low-pressure switch.

B. Removal of the Hydraulic Low Switch Tube

POST SB RA32029-13

   (1) Disconnect the low-pressure switch hose/tube assembly (17) from the pressure hose/tube and let the fluid flow into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
NOTE: Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the fitting on the pressure hose/tube when you loosen the coupling nut on the tube.
   (2) Disconnect the low-pressure switch hose/tube assembly (17) from the hydraulic low-pressure switch.
NOTE: Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the pressure switch when you loosen the coupling nut on the tube.
   (3) Remove the bolt (7) and the washer (10) that attach the clamp (20) to the channel. Remove the clamp (20) from the low-pressure switch hose/tube assembly (17).
   (4) Remove the bolts (7), the washers (10) and the nuts (25) that attach the clamps (20) to the channel. Remove the clamps (20) from the low-pressure switch hose/tube assembly (17).
   (5) Remove the low-pressure switch hose/tube assembly (17).
   (6) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the low-pressure switch hose/tube assembly (17), the fitting on the pressure hose/tube and the hydraulic low-pressure switch.

   (1) Disconnect the low-pressure switch hose assembly (19) from the pressure hose/tube and let the fluid flow into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
NOTE: Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the fitting on the pressure hose/tube when you loosen the coupling nut on the tube.
   (2) Disconnect the low-pressure switch hose assembly (19) from the hydraulic low-pressure switch.
NOTE: Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the pressure switch when you loosen the coupling nut on the tube.
   (3) Remove the low-pressure switch hose assembly (19).
   (4) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the low-pressure switch hose assembly (19), the fitting on the pressure hose/tube and the hydraulic low-pressure switch.
