Removal of the Hydraulic Pressure Hose/Tube Assembly


WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-13-49-860-067-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002)
   (2) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • on the ground service panel 198CB.
   (4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
   (4) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
   (5) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic pump to collect the remaining hydraulic fluid in the pressure hose/tube (20).

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the left fan-cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
open the door 447AL.
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.

4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-49-020-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Pressure Hose/Tube Assembly
   (1) Disconnect the pressure hose/tube (20) from the union in the hydraulic pump and let the fluid flow in the container.
NOTE: Use a second WRENCH - STRAP to hold the union on the hydraulic pump when you loosen the coupling nut on the pressure hose/tube.
   (2) Disconnect the pressure hose/tube (20) from the fluid disconnect panel at the top of the engine.
   (3) Remove the bolt (5), the washers (10) and the clamp (15) that attach the pressure hose/tube (20) to the higher bracket.

   (4) Remove the bolt (5), the washer (10) and the clamp (15) that attach the pressure hose/tube (20) to the two channels.

   (5) Remove the bolts (5, 6, 7, 12), the washers (8, 10, 14) and the clamps (9, 15, 16) that attach the pressure hose/tube (20) to the two channels and the bracket on the engine flange.

   (6) Remove the bolts (6, 7, 12, 22), the washers (8, 14, 24) and the clamps (9, 16, 26) that attach the pressure hose/tube (20) to the two channels and the bracket on the engine flange.

   (7) Disconnect the pressure switch tube from the tee-fitting on the pressure hose/tube (20).
NOTE: Use a second WRENCH - STRAP to hold the flats of the tee-fitting when you loosen the coupling nut on the tube.
   (8) Remove the bolt (5), the washer (10) and the clamp (15) that attach the pressure hose/tube (20) to the lower bracket.
   (9) Remove the bolt (25), the washer (30) and the nut (35) from the band of the center mount clamp (40).
   (10) Open the band of the clamp (40) and remove the pressure hose/tube (20) from the insert. Put the band on the insert and install the bolt (25), the washer (30) and the nut (35).
   (11) Remove the pressure hose/tube (20) from the engine.
   (12) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the tee-fitting and the ends of the pressure hose/tube (20), the union on the hydraulic pump and the fitting on the fluid disconnect panel.
