3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-11-43-941-080-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
  • Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
  • Make sure that ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
  • Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-43-210-054-A
A. Visual Check of the Engine-Pump Case-Drain-Filter Contamination (Pop-Out) Indicator
   (1) Do a visual check of the red pop-out indicator button (2) on the head of the filter assembly (1).
     (a) If the red pop-out indicator button (2) is extended, a filter bypass occurred.
NOTE: A filter bypass can cause contamination to go around the filter cartridge. This contamination can cause some components, installed downstream of the filter, to operate incorrectly.
   (2) If there was a filter bypass, replace the filter cartridge (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-43-610-803).
   (3) Push the red button until it is in the retracted position to do a reset of the pop-out indicator button (2).
   (4) Do a check of the removed filter cartridge for contamination:
