Removal of the Spoiler 5
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
1. Reason for the Job- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Make sure the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
(3) Make sure the 98D27604000000 COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER or 98D27604004000 COLLAR SAFETY SPOILER is on the piston rod of the servo-control.
Subtask 27-64-45-865-050-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Extend the spoiler 5 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002). (2) Make sure the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
(3) Make sure the 98D27604000000 COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER or 98D27604004000 COLLAR SAFETY SPOILER is on the piston rod of the servo-control.

A. Removal of Spoiler 5
(1) Remove the nuts (43), the washers (44) and the bolts (41). Disconnect the bonding straps (42) from each end of spoiler 5.
(2) Remove the nuts (22), (28) and (40) and the locking plates (23), (29) and (39).
(3) Remove the spacer (21) and the bolt (20).
(4) Remove the STA-LOK nuts and washers (Ref. AMM TASK 20-22-00-000-001):
(a) Remove the STA-LOK washer (1) with the SL90-314-7500 TOOL-EXTR NSA 5454.
(b) Remove the STA-LOK nut (2) with the SL90-315-7500 WRENCH-NTCHD NSA5454. Do not remove the hinge pin (4).
(c) Remove the STA-LOK washers (27) and (45) with the SL90-314-5000 TOOL - EXTRACTION, TAB WASHERS STA-LOK NSA5454.
(d) Remove the STA-LOK washers (33) and (35) with the SL90-314-6250 TOOL-REMOVAL, WASHER.
(e) Remove the STA-LOK nuts (26) and (46) with the SL90-315-5000 WRENCH-NTCHD NSA5454.
(f) Remove the STA-LOK nuts (32) and (34) with the SL90-315-6250 WRENCH-NTCHD NSA5454.
(5) Do not remove the hinge pins (24), (30), (38) and (47).
(6) Prepare spoiler 5 for removal:
(b) Remove the hinge pin (4) from the actuator eye-end (6).
(c) Carefully lower the spoiler and remove the sliding bush (3) and the flanged bush (5).
(7) Continue to hold the spoiler and remove the hinge pins (24), (30), (38) and (47).
(8) Collect the sliding bushes (25), (31), (36) and (37).
(9) Remove spoiler 5 from the wing.
(10) Remove the nuts (49), the washers (50) and the bolts (47). Disconnect the bonding straps (48) from each end of spoiler 5.
(11) Remove the nuts (21), (30) and (46) and the locking plates (22), (31) and (45).
(12) Remove the spacer (20) and the bolt (29).
(13) Remove the items that follow:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (1) from the locking cap (2).
(b) Remove the locking cap (2), the nut (3) and the washer (4). Do not remove the hinge pin (6).
(c) Remove and discard the cotter pins (28) and (51) from the locking caps (27) and (52).
(d) Remove and discard the cotter pins (37) and (38) from the locking caps (36) and (39).
(e) Remove the locking caps (27), (52), (36) and (39).
(f) Remove the nuts (26), (53), (35) and (40).
(g) Remove the washers (25), (54), (34) and (41).
(14) Do not remove the hinge pins (23), (32), (44) and (55).
(15) Prepare spoiler 5 for removal:
(b) Remove the hinge pin (6) from the actuator eye-end (8).
(c) Carefully lower the spoiler and remove the sliding bush (5) and the flanged bush (7).
(16) Continue to hold the spoiler and remove the hinge pins (23), (32), (44) and (55).
(17) Collect the sliding bushes (24), (33), (42) and (43).
(18) Remove spoiler 5 from the wing.

(1) Remove the nuts (43), the washers (44) and the bolts (41). Disconnect the bonding straps (42) from each end of spoiler 5.
(2) Remove the nuts (22), (28) and (40) and the locking plates (23), (29) and (39).
(3) Remove the spacer (21) and the bolt (20).
(4) Remove the STA-LOK nuts and washers (Ref. AMM TASK 20-22-00-000-001):
(a) Remove the STA-LOK washer (1) with the SL90-314-7500 TOOL-EXTR NSA 5454.
(b) Remove the STA-LOK nut (2) with the SL90-315-7500 WRENCH-NTCHD NSA5454. Do not remove the hinge pin (4).
(c) Remove the STA-LOK washers (27) and (45) with the SL90-314-5000 TOOL - EXTRACTION, TAB WASHERS STA-LOK NSA5454.
(d) Remove the STA-LOK washers (33) and (35) with the SL90-314-6250 TOOL-REMOVAL, WASHER.
(e) Remove the STA-LOK nuts (26) and (46) with the SL90-315-5000 WRENCH-NTCHD NSA5454.
(f) Remove the STA-LOK nuts (32) and (34) with the SL90-315-6250 WRENCH-NTCHD NSA5454.
(5) Do not remove the hinge pins (24), (30), (38) and (47).
(6) Prepare spoiler 5 for removal:
CAUTION:
SUPPORT THE SERVO CONTROL 7.5kg (16.5lb) AND THE SPOILER APPROXIMATELY 15kg (33lb). THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO:
(a) Put spoiler 5 and the actuator on supports. - THE HYDRAULIC LINES
- THE ELECTRICAL CABLES
- THE STRUCTURE.
(b) Remove the hinge pin (4) from the actuator eye-end (6).
(c) Carefully lower the spoiler and remove the sliding bush (3) and the flanged bush (5).
(7) Continue to hold the spoiler and remove the hinge pins (24), (30), (38) and (47).
(8) Collect the sliding bushes (25), (31), (36) and (37).
(9) Remove spoiler 5 from the wing.

(10) Remove the nuts (49), the washers (50) and the bolts (47). Disconnect the bonding straps (48) from each end of spoiler 5.
(11) Remove the nuts (21), (30) and (46) and the locking plates (22), (31) and (45).
(12) Remove the spacer (20) and the bolt (29).
(13) Remove the items that follow:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (1) from the locking cap (2).
(b) Remove the locking cap (2), the nut (3) and the washer (4). Do not remove the hinge pin (6).
(c) Remove and discard the cotter pins (28) and (51) from the locking caps (27) and (52).
(d) Remove and discard the cotter pins (37) and (38) from the locking caps (36) and (39).
(e) Remove the locking caps (27), (52), (36) and (39).
(f) Remove the nuts (26), (53), (35) and (40).
(g) Remove the washers (25), (54), (34) and (41).
(14) Do not remove the hinge pins (23), (32), (44) and (55).
(15) Prepare spoiler 5 for removal:
CAUTION:
SUPPORT THE SERVO CONTROL 7.5kg (16.5lb) AND THE SPOILER APPROXIMATELY 15kg (33lb). THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO:
(a) Put spoiler 5 and the actuator on supports. - THE HYDRAULIC LINES
- THE ELECTRICAL CABLES
- THE STRUCTURE.
(b) Remove the hinge pin (6) from the actuator eye-end (8).
(c) Carefully lower the spoiler and remove the sliding bush (5) and the flanged bush (7).
(16) Continue to hold the spoiler and remove the hinge pins (23), (32), (44) and (55).
(17) Collect the sliding bushes (24), (33), (42) and (43).
(18) Remove spoiler 5 from the wing.
