Removal of the Torque Shaft
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
1. Reason for the Job- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the flap/slat control lever.
Subtask 27-54-45-865-096-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Retract the flaps fully (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009). (2) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the flap/slat control lever.
C. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in the applicable position.
(2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-004).

(b) FOR [6282CM] (FLAP XMSN TORQUE SHAFT)
remove 675FB 675GB.
(3) Put the applicable spoiler in the 'M' (Maintenance) position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
(4) Put the 98D27604000000 COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER or 98D27604004000 COLLAR SAFETY SPOILER on the piston rod of the servo-control.
Subtask 27-54-45-480-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in the applicable position.
(2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-004).

(3) Put the applicable spoiler in the 'M' (Maintenance) position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
(4) Put the 98D27604000000 COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER or 98D27604004000 COLLAR SAFETY SPOILER on the piston rod of the servo-control.
E. Installation of Support Equipment
(1) Get access through the applicable access-panel hole:
(a) FOR [6232CM] (FLAP XMSN TORQUE SHAFT)
through 575GB.
(b) FOR [6282CM] (FLAP XMSN TORQUE SHAFT)
through 675GB.
(2) Install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS at the flap track 1 position only.
Subtask 27-54-45-480-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Get access through the applicable access-panel hole:
(a) FOR [6232CM] (FLAP XMSN TORQUE SHAFT)
through 575GB.
(b) FOR [6282CM] (FLAP XMSN TORQUE SHAFT)
through 675GB.
(2) Install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS at the flap track 1 position only.
E. Installation of Support Equipment
(1) Get access through the applicable access-panel hole:
(a) FOR [6232CM] (FLAP XMSN TORQUE SHAFT)
through 575GB.
(b) FOR [6282CM] (FLAP XMSN TORQUE SHAFT)
through 675GB.
(2) Install the 98D27504005000 PIN RIGGING-FLAPS (TRACK 1) at the flap track 1 position only.
4. Procedure(1) Get access through the applicable access-panel hole:
(a) FOR [6232CM] (FLAP XMSN TORQUE SHAFT)
through 575GB.
(b) FOR [6282CM] (FLAP XMSN TORQUE SHAFT)
through 675GB.
(2) Install the 98D27504005000 PIN RIGGING-FLAPS (TRACK 1) at the flap track 1 position only.

A. Removal of the Torque Shaft
(1) Remove and discard the nuts (59).
(2) Remove the bolts (60) and the torque shaft (58).
(3) Remove the universal joint (57).
(1) Remove and discard the nuts (59).
(2) Remove the bolts (60) and the torque shaft (58).
(3) Remove the universal joint (57).
