A. Preparation for Adjustment of the Forward Eccentrics
   (1) At the track 3 and track 4 positions, install the sharks fin flap rigging kit (Ref. AMM TASK 27-51-00-820-008) and the 98D27508655000 RIG-SCALE,FLAP.
NOTE: Do not use the scale block from the rigging kit. Use the additional scale block (RIG-SCALE,FLAP (98D27508655000).

B. Adjustment of the Forward Eccentrics
   (1) Remove and discard the cotter pin (5) from the nut (4).
   (2) At the track 3 position, remove the nut (4), the washer (3), the bolt (1) and the serrated plate (2).
   (3) At the track 4 position, remove the bolt (7), the washer (8) and the serrated plate (9).
   (4) Adjust the forward eccentrics (6) and (10) in sequence. Make sure that the adjustments are in small equal increments, to move the flap deflection by the same distance.
NOTE: Read the values shown on the label as follows:
  • a plus (+) or (up) value shows that the flap trailing edge must be moved up
  • a minus (-) or (down) value shows that the flap trailing edge must be moved down.
   (5) At the track 3 position, temporarily install the serrated plate (2) with the bolt (1), the washer (3) and the nut (4).
   (6) At the track 4 position, temporarily install the serrated plate (9) with the bolt (7) and the washer (8).
   (7) Make sure that the punched/painted marks on the forward eccentrics align.
   (8) Remove the sharks fin flap rigging kit (Ref. AMM TASK 27-51-00-820-008) or (Ref. AMM D/O 27-51-00-82).
Subtask 27-51-00-820-053-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Adjustment of the Forward Eccentrics
   (1) Before you adjust the forward eccentric bearings:
  • Make sure that the forward eccentrics are in the zero datum position.
NOTE: The forward eccentrics are in the zero datum position when the punched/painted marks on the forward eccentrics align.
   (2) Read the asymmetrical offset value on the label which is attached to the track 3.
NOTE: Read the values shown on the label as follows:
  • a plus (+) or (up) value shows that the flap trailing edge must be moved up.
  • a minus (-) or (down) value shows that the flap trailing edge must be moved down.
     (a) If there is no value shown on the label, do not adjust the forward eccentrics.
   (3) Status of the main eccentric bearings:
     (a) For A318/A319/A320:
NOTE: The main eccentric bearings were adjusted before with the value of label (43).
The value of label (43) is now your nominal value on the scale block.
The value of label (41) will be added to this nominal value.
     (b) For A321 only:
NOTE: The main eccentric bearings were adjusted before to the zero line of the scale block.
The zero line of the scale block is your nominal value.
The value of label (100) will be added to this nominal value (zero).
Refer to the related figure in the task 'Adjustment (Rigging) of the Flaps with the Sharks Fin Tool (A321)' (Ref. AMM TASK 27-51-00-820-009).
   (4) Adjustment of the forward eccentrics:
     (a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (5) from the nut (4).
     (b) At the track 3 position, remove the nut (4), the washer (3), the bolt (1) and the serrated plate (2).
     (c) At the track 4 position, remove the bolt (7), the washer (8) and the serrated plate (9).
     (d) Adjust the forward eccentrics (6) and (10) in sequence by the amount shown on the label attached to flap track 3.
1 Make sure that the adjustments are in small equal increments to move the flap deflection by the same amount.
NOTE: The scale block has 1 millimeter graduations.
Look inboard from the outside of the flap track beam when you read the scale block.
2 The adjusted values have a tolerance of +/- 1 mm (0.0394 in.).
     (e) At track 3:
1 Temporarily install the serrated plate (2) with the bolt (1), the washer (3) and the nut (4).
       2 For A318/A319/A320:
Do a check of the scale block to make sure that the top surface of the flap trailing edge is aligned with the added value of label (41).
       3 For A321 only:
Do a check of the scale block to make sure that the top surface of the flap trailing edge is aligned with the value of label (100).
     (f) At track 4:
1 Temporarily install the serrated plate (9) with the bolt (7) and the washer (8).
   (5) Go back to the related adjustment (rigging) task (Ref. AMM TASK 27-51-00-820-008) or (Ref. AMM TASK 27-51-00-820-009)
or remove the sharks fin tool and the scale block.
