3. Job Set-up
Subtask 27-41-43-860-051-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at zone 121.
   (2) Make sure that the access door 811 is open.
   (3) Make sure that the 98D27403500000 PITCH TRIM CONTROL LOCKING is installed on the pitch-trim control wheels.
   (4) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-864-001) is depressurized.
   (5) Make sure that the 98D27403000000 HOLDING TOOL-TRIM CTL LOWER SHAFT is installed on the drive shaft (23) .
   (6) Make sure that the standard locking bolt is installed on the chain (1).
4. Procedure
Subtask 27-41-43-640-050-A
A. Apply Lubricant on the Components
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the different components.

B. Installation of the Stop and Gearset Unit
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
   (1) Put the stop unit (5) with the yoke (12) in position on the plate (20).
   (2) Put the stop unit (5) in the nose-down stop position. To do this:
     (a) Go to the gear side of the stop unit (5).
     (b) Turn the gear (2) clockwise.
   (3) Put the chain (22) in position on the gear (2).
   (4) Install the four screws (10) and the screw (21), and install and tighten the five new AIPC 27-41-01-03-030 NUTS (6) or AIPC 27-41-81-03-020 NUTS (6).
   (5) Make sure that the chain (22) is correctly set on all the gears.
   (6) Install the tapered pin (19), washer (15) and nut (14).
   (7) Tighten the nut (14) and safety it with the new
AIPC 27-41-01-03-080 COTTER PIN (13) or AIPC 27-41-81-03-080 COTTER PIN (13).
   (8) Install the screws (11), washers (16) and nuts (18).
   (9) Tighten the nuts (18) and safety them with the new
AIPC 27-41-01-04-030 COTTER PINS (17) or AIPC 27-41-81-04-030 COTTER PINS (17).
   (10) Put the chain cover (4) in position, and install the screws (3), washers (7) and nuts (9).
   (11) Tighten the nuts (9) and safety them with the new
AIPC 27-41-01-03-080 COTTER PINS (8) or AIPC 27-41-81-03-080 COTTER PINS (8).
   (12) Install the item (24) of the
98D27403002002 CHECKING TOOL-CHAIN TENSION,PITCH TRIM CTL WHEEL on the chain (22), and the item (25) on the center pedestal.
NOTE: The axis of the item (24) must be in the middle of the chain section (refer to Detail C).
   (13) Turn the screw (28) to increase the tension of the chain (22).
   (14) Attach the DYNAMOMETER 10 DAN (22 LBF) - PUSH to the item (24).
   (15) With the dynamometer, apply a force of 1.1 daN (2.4729 lbf) in the up direction at 90 degrees to the chain section and make sure that the end of the item (24) is in the range of the item (25) (refer to Detail D).
   (16) Turn the screw (28) to adjust the chain tension if necessary.
   (17) Remove the DYNAMOMETER 10 DAN (22 LBF) - PUSH and the items (24) and (25) of the 98D27403002002 CHECKING TOOL-CHAIN TENSION,PITCH TRIM CTL WHEEL.
   (18) Tighten the nut (27). Make sure that the screw (28) does not turn.
   (19) Install the lockwire:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Safety the nut (27) and the screw (28) with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
   (20) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (21) Install the lateral panel.

C. Installation of the Peripheral Equipment
   (1) Install the Radio Management Panel (1RG1) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-13-13-400-001).
   (2) Install the Audio Control Panel (2RN1) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-51-12-400-001).
   (3) Install FLOOD LT/INTEG LT panel 111VU:
     (a) Remove the blanking caps from the connectors (31) and (32).
     (b) Connect the connector (32) to the panel (30).
     (c) Install the panel (30) on the structure.
     (d) Fully tighten the fasteners (29) of the panel (30).
   (4) Install the weather radar control-unit (3SQ) (Ref. AMM TASK 34-41-12-400-001).

D. Test
   (1) Remove the 98D27403000000 HOLDING TOOL-TRIM CTL LOWER SHAFT from the drive shaft (23).
   (2) Remove the standard locking bolt from the chain (1).
   (3) Remove the 98D27403500000 PITCH TRIM CONTROL LOCKING from the pitch-trim control wheels.
   (4) Do the functional test of the THS-actuator overfull travel with reference to the mechanical indicator (Ref. AMM TASK 27-41-00-720-001).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access door 811.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
