A. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
(2) Make sure that the access door 811 is open.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the Green and the Yellow hydraulic systems is in position.
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the pedals is in position.
(5) Make sure that the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (36) is in position on the tension regulator.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
(2) Make sure that the access door 811 is open.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the Green and the Yellow hydraulic systems is in position.
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the pedals is in position.
(5) Make sure that the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (36) is in position on the tension regulator.
Subtask 27-21-44-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the CAPT Yaw/Brake Bellcrank
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the attachment hardware.
(4) Turn the yaw bellcrank (2) 90 degrees and install the yaw/brake bellcrank on the beam (40).
(5) Install the sleeves (45) and (73).
(6) Install the bolts (50) and (49).
(a) Install and tighten the new AIPC 27-21-44-01-130 NUTS (41).
(7) Install the rod (42) on the sleeve (45) and install the bolt (43).
(8) Put the washer (46) in position and install and tighten the nut (47). Safety the nut (47) with the new AIPC 27-21-44-01-010 COTTER PIN (48).
(9) Install the rod (62) and the bolt (51).
(10) Put the washer (53) in position, install and tighten the nut (54). Safety the nut (54) with the new AIPC 32-42-01-04-010 COTTER PIN (55).
(11) Install the rod (66) and install the bolt (70).
(12) Put the washer (61) in position and install and tighten the nut (59). Safety the nut (59) with the new AIPC 32-42-01-04-010 COTTER PIN (60).
(13) Install the rod (69) and the bolt (52).
(14) Put the washer (56) in position and install and tighten the nut (57). Safety the nut (57) with the new AIPC 32-42-01-04-010 COTTER PIN (58).
(15) Install the rod (68) and the bolt (67).
(16) Put the washer (65) in position and install and tighten the nut (64). Safety the nut (64) with the new AIPC 32-42-01-04-010 COTTER PIN (63).
(17) Install the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (35) on the yaw/brake bellcranks of the CAPT and F/O.
(18) Push and hold the pin on transducer unit 25CE1 to lock the input lever in the zero position.
(b) Loosen the nuts (25) and (28) and disengage the lockwashers (26) and (27).
(c) Adjust the length of the rod (29) until you can install the bolt (34).
(d) Engage the lockwashers (26) and (27) and tighten the nuts (25) and (28). Safety them with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
(20) Disengage the pin to release the input lever of transducer unit 25CE1.
(21) Put the washer (30) in position, install and tighten the nut (31). Safety the nut (31) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (32).
(22) Install the rod (9) and the bolt (1).
(23) Put the washer (18) in position, install and tighten the nut (20). Safety the nut (20) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (19).
(24) Install the rod (4) and the bolt (3). If necessary, adjust the length of the rod (4) as follows:
(a) Cut and discard the lockwire.
(b) Loosen the nuts (5) and (8) and disengage the lockwashers (6) and (7).
(c) Adjust the length of the rod (4) until you can install the bolt (3).
(d) Engage the lockwashers (6) and (7) and TORQUE the nuts (5) and (8) to between 1.51 and 1.24 m.daN (133.63 and 109.73 lbf.in )
. Safety them with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
(25) Put the washer (10) in position, install and tighten the nut (12). Safety the nut (12) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (11).
(26) Install the rod (17) and the bolt (21). If necessary, adjust the length of the rod (17) as follows:
(a) Cut and discard the lockwire.
(b) Loosen the nuts (13) and (16) and disengage the lockwashers (14) and (15).
(c) Adjust the length of the rod (17) until you can install the bolt (21).
(d) Engage the lockwashers (14) and (15) and TORQUE the nuts (13) and (16) to between 1.51 and 1.24 m.daN (133.63 and 109.73 lbf.in )
. Safety them with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
(27) Put the washer (22) in position, install and tighten the nut (23). Safety the nut (23) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (24).
(28) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (35) from the yaw/brake bellcranks of the CAPT and F/O.
Subtask 27-21-44-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

(9) Install the rod (62) and the bolt (51).

(11) Install the rod (66) and install the bolt (70).
(12) Put the washer (61) in position and install and tighten the nut (59). Safety the nut (59) with the new AIPC 32-42-01-04-010 COTTER PIN (60).
(13) Install the rod (69) and the bolt (52).

(17) Install the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (35) on the yaw/brake bellcranks of the CAPT and F/O.
(18) Push and hold the pin on transducer unit 25CE1 to lock the input lever in the zero position.
NOTE: The pin is a part of transducer unit 25CE1.
(19) Install the rods (33) and (29) and install the bolt (34). If necessary, adjust the length of the rod (29) as follows: WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Cut and discard the lockwire. (b) Loosen the nuts (25) and (28) and disengage the lockwashers (26) and (27).
(c) Adjust the length of the rod (29) until you can install the bolt (34).
(d) Engage the lockwashers (26) and (27) and tighten the nuts (25) and (28). Safety them with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
(20) Disengage the pin to release the input lever of transducer unit 25CE1.
(21) Put the washer (30) in position, install and tighten the nut (31). Safety the nut (31) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (32).
(22) Install the rod (9) and the bolt (1).
(23) Put the washer (18) in position, install and tighten the nut (20). Safety the nut (20) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (19).
(24) Install the rod (4) and the bolt (3). If necessary, adjust the length of the rod (4) as follows:
(a) Cut and discard the lockwire.
(b) Loosen the nuts (5) and (8) and disengage the lockwashers (6) and (7).
(c) Adjust the length of the rod (4) until you can install the bolt (3).
(d) Engage the lockwashers (6) and (7) and TORQUE the nuts (5) and (8) to between 1.51 and 1.24 m.daN (133.63 and 109.73 lbf.in )
. Safety them with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.). (25) Put the washer (10) in position, install and tighten the nut (12). Safety the nut (12) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (11).
(26) Install the rod (17) and the bolt (21). If necessary, adjust the length of the rod (17) as follows:
(a) Cut and discard the lockwire.
(b) Loosen the nuts (13) and (16) and disengage the lockwashers (14) and (15).
(c) Adjust the length of the rod (17) until you can install the bolt (21).
(d) Engage the lockwashers (14) and (15) and TORQUE the nuts (13) and (16) to between 1.51 and 1.24 m.daN (133.63 and 109.73 lbf.in )
. Safety them with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.). (27) Put the washer (22) in position, install and tighten the nut (23). Safety the nut (23) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (24).
(28) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (35) from the yaw/brake bellcranks of the CAPT and F/O.
A. Installation of the CAPT Yaw/Brake Bellcrank
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

(3) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the attachment hardware.
(4) Turn the yaw bellcrank (2) 90 degrees and install the yaw/brake bellcrank on the beam (40).
(5) Install the sleeves (45) and (73).
(6) Install the bolts (50) and (49).
(a) Install and tighten the new AIPC 27-21-44-01-130 NUTS (41).
(7) Install the rod (42) on the sleeve (45) and install the bolt (43).
(8) Put the washer (46) in position and install and tighten the nut (47). Safety the nut (47) with the new AIPC 27-21-44-01-010 COTTER PIN (48).
(9) Install the rod (62) and the bolt (51).
(10) Install the washer (53) in position, install and tighten the nut (54). Safety the nut (54) with the new AIPC 32-42-01-04-010 COTTER PIN (55) or AIPC 32-42-81-04-010 COTTER PIN (55).
(11) Install the rod (66) and the bolt (70).
(12) Put the washer (61) in position and install and tighten the nut (59). Safety the nut (59) with the new AIPC 32-42-01-04-010 COTTER PIN (60) or the AIPC 32-42-81-04-010 COTTER PIN (60).
(13) Install the rod (69) and the bolt (52).
(14) Put the washer (56) in position and install and tighten the nut (57). Safety the nut (57) with the new AIPC 32-42-01-04-010 COTTER PIN (58) or the AIPC 32-42-81-04-010 COTTER PIN (58).
(15) Install the rod (68) and install the bolt (67).
(16) Put the washer (65) in position and install and tighten the nut (64). Safety the nut (64) with the new AIPC 32-42-01-04-010 COTTER PIN (63) or the AIPC 32-42-81-04-010 COTTER PIN (63).
(17) Install the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (35) on the yaw/brake bellcranks of the CAPT and F/O.
(18) Push and hold the pin on transducer unit 25CE1 to lock the input lever in the zero position.
(a) Cut and discard the lockwire.
(b) Loosen the nuts (25) and (28) and disengage the lockwashers (26) and (27).
(c) Adjust the length of the rod (29) until you can install the bolt (34).
(d) Engage the lockwashers (26) and (27) and tighten the nuts (25) and (28). Safety them with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
(20) Disengage the pin to release the input lever of transducer unit 25CE1.
(21) Put the washer (30) in position, install and tighten the nut (31). Safety the nut (31) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (32) or the AIPC 27-21-81-01-010 COTTER PIN (32).
(22) Install the rod (9) and the bolt (1).
(23) Put the washer (18) in position, install and tighten the nut (20). Safety the nut (20) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (19) or the AIPC 27-21-81-01-010 COTTER PIN (19).
(24) Install the rod (4) and the bolt (3). If necessary, adjust the length of the rod (4) as follows:
(a) Cut and discard the lockwire from the nuts of the rod (4).
(b) Loosen the nuts (5) and (7) and disengage the lockwashers (6) and (8).
(c) Turn the rod body (37) until you can install and remove the rigging pins (35) and (36) freely.
(d) Engage the lockwashers (6) and (8).
(e) TORQUE the nut (7) to between 1.32 and 1.08 m.daN (116.81 and 95.58 lbf.in )
and the nut (5) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in )
.
(f) Make sure that the adjustment is correct after you tightened the nuts.
(g) Safety the nuts with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
(25) Put the washer (10) in position, install and tighten the nut (12). Safety the nut (12) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (11) or the AIPC 27-21-81-01-010 COTTER PIN (11).
(26) Install the rod (17) and the bolt (21). If necessary, adjust the length of the rod (17) as follows:
(a) Cut and discard the lockwire.
(b) Loosen the nuts (13) and (16) and disengage the lockwashers (14) and (15).
(c) Adjust the length of the rod (17) until you can install the bolt (21).
(d) Engage the lockwashers (14) and (15) and TORQUE the nuts (13) and (16) to between 1.51 and 1.24 m.daN (133.63 and 109.73 lbf.in )
. Safety them with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
(27) Put the washer (22) in position, install and tighten the nut (23). Safety the nut (23) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (24) or the AIPC 27-21-81-01-010 COTTER PIN (24).
(28) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (35) from the yaw/brake bellcranks of the CAPT and F/O.

NOTE: The pin is a part of transducer unit 25CE1.
(19) Install the rods (33) and (29) and the bolt (34). If necessary, adjust the length of the rod (29) as follows: (a) Cut and discard the lockwire.
(b) Loosen the nuts (25) and (28) and disengage the lockwashers (26) and (27).
(c) Adjust the length of the rod (29) until you can install the bolt (34).
(d) Engage the lockwashers (26) and (27) and tighten the nuts (25) and (28). Safety them with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
(20) Disengage the pin to release the input lever of transducer unit 25CE1.
(21) Put the washer (30) in position, install and tighten the nut (31). Safety the nut (31) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (32) or the AIPC 27-21-81-01-010 COTTER PIN (32).
(22) Install the rod (9) and the bolt (1).
(23) Put the washer (18) in position, install and tighten the nut (20). Safety the nut (20) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (19) or the AIPC 27-21-81-01-010 COTTER PIN (19).
(24) Install the rod (4) and the bolt (3). If necessary, adjust the length of the rod (4) as follows:
(a) Cut and discard the lockwire from the nuts of the rod (4).
(b) Loosen the nuts (5) and (7) and disengage the lockwashers (6) and (8).
(c) Turn the rod body (37) until you can install and remove the rigging pins (35) and (36) freely.
(d) Engage the lockwashers (6) and (8).
(e) TORQUE the nut (7) to between 1.32 and 1.08 m.daN (116.81 and 95.58 lbf.in )
and the nut (5) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in )
. (f) Make sure that the adjustment is correct after you tightened the nuts.
(g) Safety the nuts with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
(25) Put the washer (10) in position, install and tighten the nut (12). Safety the nut (12) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (11) or the AIPC 27-21-81-01-010 COTTER PIN (11).
(26) Install the rod (17) and the bolt (21). If necessary, adjust the length of the rod (17) as follows:
(a) Cut and discard the lockwire.
(b) Loosen the nuts (13) and (16) and disengage the lockwashers (14) and (15).
(c) Adjust the length of the rod (17) until you can install the bolt (21).
(d) Engage the lockwashers (14) and (15) and TORQUE the nuts (13) and (16) to between 1.51 and 1.24 m.daN (133.63 and 109.73 lbf.in )
. Safety them with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.). (27) Put the washer (22) in position, install and tighten the nut (23). Safety the nut (23) with the new AIPC 27-21-01-01-010 COTTER PIN (24) or the AIPC 27-21-81-01-010 COTTER PIN (24).
(28) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (35) from the yaw/brake bellcranks of the CAPT and F/O.
C. Test of the CAPT Yaw/Brake Bellcrank
(1) Do the operational test of the rudder mechanical control (Ref. AMM TASK 27-24-00-710-001).
(2) Do the operational test of the normal braking system (operational check of the pedals) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-00-710-001).
(3) Do the operational test of the alternate braking system (operational check of the pedals) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-710-001).
5. Close-up(1) Do the operational test of the rudder mechanical control (Ref. AMM TASK 27-24-00-710-001).
(2) Do the operational test of the normal braking system (operational check of the pedals) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-00-710-001).
(3) Do the operational test of the alternate braking system (operational check of the pedals) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-710-001).

A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
