A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Get Access
(2) If necessary open the door/access panel of the stowage where the fire extinguisher is installed.
(3) Identify each fire extinguisher and record its position.
(4) Release/open the strap/clamp and remove each fire extinguisher from its support bracket.
4. ProcedureNOTE: The fire extinguisher locations are shown with placards. The placards are bonded on the outer side of the stowage compartments or adjacent to them.
(1) For the location of the portable fire extinguishers refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 26-24-00-00). (2) If necessary open the door/access panel of the stowage where the fire extinguisher is installed.
(3) Identify each fire extinguisher and record its position.
(4) Release/open the strap/clamp and remove each fire extinguisher from its support bracket.

(1) Send the portable fire extinguisher to the workshop to do the weight check of the propellant cartridge.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) If necessary, close the door/access panel of the stowage or compartment.
Subtask 26-24-00-860-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHER IS ALWAYS EASY TO REMOVE. IN AN EMERGENCY, ADJACENT EQUIPMENT MUST NOT PREVENT ITS EASY REMOVAL. IF IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO REMOVE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER QUICKLY, INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(2) Install a serviceable fire extinguisher in its support bracket, remove the identification marks and attach/close the strap/clamp. (3) If necessary, close the door/access panel of the stowage or compartment.
B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Remove all the fixtures, tools, test and support equipment used during this procedure.
(2) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
