A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
Subtask 26-24-00-010-052-A (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
B. Get Access
(2) If necessary, open the door or the access panel of the stowage compartment.
(3) Put an identification mark on each portable fire-extinguisher bottle and record its position.
(4) Release the strap or open the clamp and remove the portable fire-extinguisher bottle from its attachment.
4. ProcedureNOTE: The portable fire-extinguisher bottle locations are shown with placards. The placards are bonded on the outer side of the stowage compartments, or adjacent to them.
(1) For the location of the portable fire-extinguisher bottles refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 26-24-00-00). (2) If necessary, open the door or the access panel of the stowage compartment.
(3) Put an identification mark on each portable fire-extinguisher bottle and record its position.
(4) Release the strap or open the clamp and remove the portable fire-extinguisher bottle from its attachment.
Subtask 26-24-00-280-050-A
A. Hydrostatic Test or a Discard of the Portable Fire-Extinguisher Bottle:
(1) For the FIRE FIGHTING ENTERPRISES (U3061) or P3 ENGINEERING (CE579) portable fire-extinguisher bottle:
(a) Send the portable fire-extinguisher bottle to the workshop for discard.
(2) For all other portable fire-extinguisher bottles:
(a) Send the portable fire-extinguisher bottle to the workshop for the hydrostatic test.
5. Close-up(1) For the FIRE FIGHTING ENTERPRISES (U3061) or P3 ENGINEERING (CE579) portable fire-extinguisher bottle:
(a) Send the portable fire-extinguisher bottle to the workshop for discard.
(2) For all other portable fire-extinguisher bottles:
(a) Send the portable fire-extinguisher bottle to the workshop for the hydrostatic test.

A. Close Access
(1) Install the fire extinguisher:
(b) Attach the strap or close the clamp.
(c) Make sure that the transit pin is removed from the fire extinguisher (if installed).
(2) If necessary, close the door or the access panel of the stowage compartment.
Subtask 26-24-00-860-050-A (1) Install the fire extinguisher:
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHER IS ALWAYS EASY TO REMOVE. IN AN EMERGENCY, ADJACENT EQUIPMENT MUST NOT PREVENT ITS EASY REMOVAL. IF IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO REMOVE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER QUICKLY, INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(a) Install a serviceable fire-extinguisher in the attachment and remove the identification marks. (b) Attach the strap or close the clamp.
(c) Make sure that the transit pin is removed from the fire extinguisher (if installed).
(2) If necessary, close the door or the access panel of the stowage compartment.
B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Remove all the fixtures, tools, test and support equipment used during this procedure.
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
