A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the aft cargo-compartment door 826.
(2) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door 826 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Make sure that the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU is in the ON position.
(4) Make sure that the partition panel 161DW is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
Subtask 26-23-18-865-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the aft cargo-compartment door 826.
(2) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door 826 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Make sure that the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU is in the ON position.
(4) Make sure that the partition panel 161DW is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
C. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Functional Test of the Pressure Reducer
(1) Before you install the pressure reducer the functional test must be done.
Subtask 26-23-18-420-052-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Before you install the pressure reducer the functional test must be done.
NOTE: If the pressure reducer was already tested in a short time before this functional test, it is not necessary to test it again.
(a) Send the pressure reducer to the workshop. B. Installation of the Pressure Reducer
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
(4) Remove the blanking plugs from the ports of the pressure reducer (4).
(5) Apply grease:
(6) Install the pressure reducer (4):
(b) Install the new AIPC 26-23-04-08-230 TAB WASHER (2) or AIPC 26-23-84-05-460 WASHER (2) and the nut (1).
(c) TORQUE the nut (1) to between 3 and 2.5 m.daN (22.12 and 18.44 lbf.ft )

(d) Safety the nut (1) with the tab washer (2).
(7) Install the new AIPC 26-23-84-05-390 ORING (5) on the unions (6).
(8) Install the unions (6) on the pressure reducer (4) and tighten.
(9) Connect the pipes (8) and tighten the nuts (7).

Subtask 26-23-18-210-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: The installation procedure is the same for the pressure reducers 5044WM and 5045WM.
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
(4) Remove the blanking plugs from the ports of the pressure reducer (4).
(5) Apply grease:
CAUTION:
APPLY A SMALL QUANTITY OF THE CORRECT GREASE TO THE MALE THREADS OF THE CONNECTIONS. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE THREADS.
MAKE SURE THAT GREASE DOES NOT GO INTO THE PIPES. GREASE IN THE PIPES CAN CAUSE A MALFUNCTION OF THE SYSTEM.
(a) Apply a small quantity of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the male threads of the pressure reducer (4). (6) Install the pressure reducer (4):
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE PRESSURE REDUCER IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION OF FLOW (REFER TO THE ARROW ON THE PRESSURE REDUCER HOUSING). IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND A MALFUNCTION OF THE FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM CAN OCCUR.
(a) Put the pressure reducer (4) in its installation position on the bracket (3). (b) Install the new AIPC 26-23-04-08-230 TAB WASHER (2) or AIPC 26-23-84-05-460 WASHER (2) and the nut (1).
(c) TORQUE the nut (1) to between 3 and 2.5 m.daN (22.12 and 18.44 lbf.ft )
. (d) Safety the nut (1) with the tab washer (2).
(7) Install the new AIPC 26-23-84-05-390 ORING (5) on the unions (6).
(8) Install the unions (6) on the pressure reducer (4) and tighten.
(9) Connect the pipes (8) and tighten the nuts (7).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(10) Safety the unions (6) with lockwire C. Functional Check
(1) Do a check of the pressure reducer in the flow metering device and check of the cargo-compartment fire-extinguishing distribution-piping for leakage and blockages (Ref. AMM TASK 26-23-00-200-003).

A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the partition panel 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the OFF position.
(4) Close the aft cargo-compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 26-23-18-862-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the partition panel 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the OFF position.
(4) Close the aft cargo-compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
C. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
