3. Job Set-up

A. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001)
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the forward cargo-compartment door 825.
   (3) Make sure that the forward cargo-compartment door 825 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (4) Make sure that the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU is in the ON position.
   (5) Make sure that the protection panel 132MW is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-003).

4. Procedure

A. Functional Test of the Pressure Reducer
   (1) Before you install the pressure reducer the functional test must be done.
NOTE: If the pressure reducer was already tested in a short timebefore this functional test, it is not necessary to test it again.
     (a) Send the pressure reducer to the workshop.

B. Installation of the Pressure Reducer
NOTE: The installation procedure is the same for the pressure reducers 5014WM and 5015WM.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
   (4) Remove the blanking plugs from the ports of the pressure reducer (4).
   (5) Apply grease as follows:
CAUTION: APPLY A SMALL QUANTITY OF THE CORRECT GREASE TO THE MALE THREADS OF THE CONNECTIONS. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE THREADS. MAKE SURE THAT GREASE DOES NOT GO INTO THE PIPES. GREASE IN THE PIPES CAN CAUSE A MALFUNCTION OF THE SYSTEM.
     (a) Apply a small quantity of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the male threads of the pressure reducer (4).
   (6) Install the pressure reducer (4):
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE PRESSURE REDUCER IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION OF FLOW (REFER TO THE ARROW ON THE PRESSURE REDUCER HOUSING). IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND A MALFUNCTION OF THE FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Put the pressure reducer (4) in its installation position on the bracket (3).
     (b) Install the new AIPC 26-23-02-04-070 TAB WASHER (2) and the nut (1).
     (c) TORQUE the nut (1) to between 3 and 2.5 m.daN (22.12 and 18.44 lbf.ft )
T.
     (d) Safety the nut (1) with the tab washer (2).
   (7) Install the new
AIPC 26-23-02-03-200 O-RING (5) on the unions (6).
   (8) Install the unions (6) on the pressure reducer (4) and tighten.
   (9) Connect the pipes (8) and tighten the nuts (7).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (10) Safety the unions (6) with lockwire 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the protection panel 132MW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-003).
   (3) In the forward cargo-compartment, set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to OFF.
   (4) Close the forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).

C. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
