A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door 826 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU is in the ON position.
(3) Make sure that the partition panel 161DW is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
Subtask 26-23-14-865-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door 826 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU is in the ON position.
(3) Make sure that the partition panel 161DW is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).

Subtask 26-23-14-420-053-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Halon Filter
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
(4) Remove the blanking plugs from the halon filter (1).
(5) Apply grease as follows:
(6) Put the halon filter (1) in position on the bracket (8).
(7) Install the washers (6), the screws (7) and tighten them.
(8) Install the new AIPC 26-23-84-05-390 ORING (2) on the unions (3).
(9) Install the unions (3) on the halon filter (1) and tighten them.
(10) Install the lockwire:
14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(11) Connect the pipes (5) to the halon filter (1) and tighten the nuts (4).
Subtask 26-23-14-210-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: The installation procedure is the same for the halon filters 5040WM and 5041WM.
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
(4) Remove the blanking plugs from the halon filter (1).
(5) Apply grease as follows:
CAUTION:
APPLY A SMALL QUANTITY OF THE CORRECT GREASE TO THE MALE THREADS OF THE CONNECTIONS. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE THREADS.
MAKE SURE THAT GREASE DOES NOT GO INTO THE PIPES. GREASE IN THE PIPES CAN CAUSE A MALFUNCTION OF THE SYSTEM.
(a) Apply a small quantity of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the male threads. (6) Put the halon filter (1) in position on the bracket (8).
(7) Install the washers (6), the screws (7) and tighten them.
(8) Install the new AIPC 26-23-84-05-390 ORING (2) on the unions (3).
(9) Install the unions (3) on the halon filter (1) and tighten them.
(10) Install the lockwire:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Safety the unions (3) with (11) Connect the pipes (5) to the halon filter (1) and tighten the nuts (4).
B. Functional Test
(1) Do a check of the fire extinguishing lines for leakage and obstruction, without bottle 4005WX/4015WX (Ref. AMM TASK 26-23-00-200-004).

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the partition panel 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the OFF position.
(4) Close the aft cargo-compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).

(2) Install the partition panel 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the OFF position.
(4) Close the aft cargo-compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
C. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
