   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that cabin floor panel 251AF is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-000-001).
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is/are in position to tell persons to be careful about the removed floor panel.
   (3) Make sure that the forward cargo-compartment door 825 and the aft cargo-compartment door 826 are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (4) In the forward cargo compartment, make sure that the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU is in the ON position.
   (5) In the aft cargo compartment, make sure that the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU is in the ON position.

4. Procedure
Subtask 26-16-15-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN OR REPAIR THE SMOKE DETECTOR. IF THE SMOKE DETECTOR IS DAMAGED, PUT ON RUBBER GLOVES BEFORE YOU TOUCH IT. THE SMOKE DETECTOR CONTAINS RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL WHICH IS DANGEROUS. THUS ONLY WORKSHOPS APPROVED BY THE MANUFACTURER OF THE SMOKE DETECTOR ARE PERMITTED TO DO WORK ON IT. WHEN YOU DISCARD IT, OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE SMOKE DETECTOR MANUFACTURER. ALSO OBEY LOCAL REGULATIONS FOR RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS.
A. Installation of the Smoke Detector
NOTE: The installation procedure is the same for all the smoke detectors.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Put the smoke detector (6) in position.
   (4) Install the washers (5) and the screws (4).
   (5) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (6) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (7) Connect the electrical connector (3) to the smoke detector (6).
   (8) Put the grid in position (2).
   (9) Lock the quick release fasteners (1).

   (1) FOR [1WH] (DET-SMOKE, CARGO COMPT), [2WH] (DET-SMOKE, CARGO COMPT), [3WH] (DET-SMOKE, CARGO COMPT), [4WH] (DET-SMOKE, CARGO COMPT), [7WH] (DET-SMOKE, CARGO COMPT), [8WH] (DET-SMOKE, CARGO COMPT), [9WH] (DET-SMOKE, CARGO COMPT), [10WH] (DET-SMOKE, CARGO COMPT)
     (a) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (b) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (c) Put the smoke detector (6) in its installation position.
     (d) Install the washers (5) and the screws (4).
     (e) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (f) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (g) Connect the electrical connector (3) to the smoke detector (6).
     (h) Put the grid in its installation position (2).
     (i) Lock the quick release fasteners (1).
   (2) FOR [5WH] (DET-SMOKE, CARGO COMPT), [6WH] (DET-SMOKE, CARGO COMPT)
     (a) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (b) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (c) Install the spacers (12,13), the smoke detector (17), the angles (14), the washers (8), the screws (7) and the nuts (15) to the plate (9).
     (d) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (e) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (f) Connect the electrical connector (18) to the smoke detector (17).
     (g) Put the plate (9) together with the smoke detector (17) into the opening (16).
     (h) Move the plate (9) together with the smoke detector (17) in its installation position.
     (i) Install the washers (11) and the screws (10).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

   (1) Do the operational test of the cargo-compartment smoke-detection system by PTT (Ref. AMM TASK 26-16-00-710-001).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install cabin floor panel 251AF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-400-001).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) In the forward cargo compartment, set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to the OFF position.
   (5) In the aft cargo compartment, set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the OFF position.
   (6) Close the forward cargo-compartment door 825 and the aft cargo-compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
   (2) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
