B. Get Access
   (1) If necessary, remove the component from the aircraft (refer to the related Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) chapter).
4. Procedure
CAUTION: USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED MATERIALS AND OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURERS. OTHER MATERIALS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION OF THE COMPONENTS AND THE RELATED AREA.

A. Repair of the Toilet Shroud Assembly
F Toilet Shroud Assembly - Repair ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
   (1) If the ring cover is damaged, do these steps:
     (a) Remove the ring cover that has cracks.
       1 If necessary, increase the temperature of the joint to a maximum of 80 DEG.C (176 DEG.F)
     (b) Remove the remaining adhesive with the abrasive paper, 320-400 grade.
     (c) Clean the bonding area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
   (2) If you cannot repair the ring cover, replace it.
   (3) Bond the new ring cover to the toilet shroud as follows:
     (a) Make sure that the bonding surfaces of the ring cover and the toilet shroud are aligned correctly.
     (b) Bond the ring cover to the toilet shroud with Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 1 (Material No.05EML9) .
     (c) Fill the space between the ring cover and the toilet shroud with Paste Adhesive-- Filler Furnishing (Material No.13FGE3) .
     (d) Polish the bonding area with the abrasive paper, 320-400 grade.
     (e) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
     (f) Paint all the parts of the unit.
   (4) If the toilet shroud assembly has cracks or damages, do these steps:
     (a) Stop-drill the ends of the crack(s).
     (b) Remove the parts of the damaged fibers with the CUTTER - MILLING, 2 CUT.
     (c) Polish the repair area with the abrasive paper, 320-400 grade.
     (d) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
     (e) Fill the damaged area with Polyurethane Adhesive-Equipment & Furnishing Two parts - (Material No.05FCE1) and let it cure for one hour.
     (f) Install Dry glass fabric-2x2 Twill 163 gsm - 92110 style - Furnishing (Material No.13AHA3) (1) with Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 3 (Material No.05EML7) on the two sides of the shroud.
     (g) If necessary, polish the repair area with the abrasive paper, 320-400 grade and clean with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
     (h) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
     (i) Paint the repair area with Top Coat Polyurethane-- Decorative Furnishing (Material No.04JMD9) .
   (5) If the area of the fixing hole(s) of the toilet cover has cracks or damages, do these steps:
     (a) Stop-drill the ends of the crack(s).
     (b) Remove the parts of the damaged fibers with the CUTTER - MILLING, 2 CUT.
     (c) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
     (d) Fill the damaged area and the hole(s) with Polyurethane Adhesive-Equipment & Furnishing Two parts - (Material No.05FCE1) and let it cure for one hour.
     (e) Make the stiffener (2) from the laminated cloth plate LN40606B020 or an equivalent material.
     (f) Bond the stiffener (2) to the rear side of the repair area with Polyurethane Adhesive-Equipment & Furnishing Two parts - (Material No.05FCE1) .
     (g) Drill the new hole(s) with a diameter of 10 mm (0.3937 in.) for the installation of the toilet cover.
     (h) If necessary, polish the repair area with the abrasive paper, 320-400 grade.
     (i) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
     (j) Paint the repair area with Top Coat Polyurethane-- Decorative Furnishing (Material No.04JMD9) .
   (6) If the area of the lower attachment has cracks or damages, do these steps:
     (a) Stop-drill the ends of the crack(s).
     (b) Remove the parts of the damaged fibers with the CUTTER - MILLING, 2 CUT.
     (c) Polish the area of the stiffener (2) with the abrasive paper, 320-400 grade.
     (d) Fill the damaged area and the hole(s) with Polyurethane Adhesive-Equipment & Furnishing Two parts - (Material No.05FCE1) and let it cure for one hour.
     (e) Install Dry glass fabric-2x2 Twill 163 gsm - 92110 style - Furnishing (Material No.13AHA3) (1) with Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 3 (Material No.05EML7) .
     (f) Drill the new hole(s) and bond washer NAS1169DD8 (3) to the hole(s) with Polyurethane Adhesive-Equipment & Furnishing Two parts - (Material No.05FCE1) .
     (g) If necessary, polish the repair area with the abrasive paper, 320-400 grade.
     (h) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
     (i) Paint the repair area with Top Coat Polyurethane-- Decorative Furnishing (Material No.04JMD9) .
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) If necessary, install the component in the aircraft (refer to the related AMM chapter).
   (2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
