(1) If necessary, remove the component from the aircraft (refer to the related AMM chapter).

4. Procedure

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

CAUTION: USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED MATERIALS AND OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURERS. OTHER MATERIALS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION OF THE COMPONENTS AND THE RELATED AREA.

A. Repair of the Washbasin Door in the Latch Area

Washbasin door - repair in the latch area

NOTE: If cracks are longer than 76 mm (3 in.) the washbasin door must be replaced.

(1) Remove the latch (1).
(2) Clean the damaged area with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and clean the moist stain with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Fill the damaged area with the Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 1 (Material No.05EML9) .
(4) Install a stiffener plate (2) made from material LN 9073AT10 or 6061T6, 1 mm (0.04 in.) thick with the Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 1 (Material No.05EML9) .

NOTE: If the dimensions of 100 x 100 mm are too small to cover all cracks, it is permitted to install a stiffener plate with larger dimensions.

(5) Make the area smooth with the abrasive paper, 320-400 grade.
(6) Clean the repaired area with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and clean the moist stain with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(7) Apply Top Coat Polyurethane-- Decorative Furnishing (Material No.04JMD9) in the related color to the repair area.
(8) Install the latch (1).

A. Close Access
(1) If necessary, install the component in the aircraft (refer to the related AMM chapter).
(2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

B. De-energize the ground service network
