   (1) Depressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
   (2) On the water service panel, put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the potable water system.

C. At the applicable galley, on the galley control panel, open, safety and tag the circuit breaker(s) of the water boiler(s)/heater(s).

   (1) Open, safety and tag the circuit breaker(s) of the water boiler/heater.

A. Removal of the Water Boiler/Heater

WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
   (1) Prevent damage to the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Remove the screws (1).
   (3) Carefully pull the water boiler/heater (4) out of the galley and hold it in position.
   (4) Disconnect the electrical connector (3).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
   (5) Disconnect the water supply line (2).
   (6) Remove the water boiler/heater (4) from the galley.
   (7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (8) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.

WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Prevent damage to the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Remove the screws (2).
   (3) Carefully pull the water boiler/heater (4) out of the galley and hold it in position.
   (4) Disconnect the electrical connector (3).

   (5) Disconnect the water supply line (1).
   (6) Remove the water boiler/heater (4) from the galley.
   (7) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (8) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.

A. Removal of the Water Heater

WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Remove the screw (1).
   (2) Pull the lever (2) to the unlocked position.
   (3) Remove the water heater from the galley:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
     (a) Carefully pull the water heater (3) and disconnect the electrical connector, the water supply line and the drain line.
     (b) Remove the water heater (3) from the galley.
   (4) Put a PLUG - BLANKING in the disconnected line ends.
   (5) Put a CAP - BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector.

   (3) Carefully pull the water boiler/heater (5) out of the galley and hold it in position.
   (4) Disconnect the electrical connector (4).

   (5) Disconnect the water supply line (1).
   (6) Remove the water boiler/heater (5) from the galley.
   (7) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (8) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.

A. Removal of the Water Heater

WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Remove the water heater from the forward galley:
     (a) Remove the screw (3).
     (b) Pull the lever (2) to the unlocked position.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
     (c) Carefully pull the water heater (4) to disconnect the electrical connector, the water supply line and the drain line.
     (d) Remove the water heater (4) from the galley.
   (2) Remove the water heater from the aft galley:
     (a) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
     (b) Remove the screws (7) and the washers (6).
     (c) Carefully pull the water heater (9) out of the galley and hold it in position.
     (d) Disconnect the electrical connector (8).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
     (e) Disconnect the water supply line (5).
     (f) Remove the water heater (9).
   (3) Put a PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
   (4) Put a CAP - BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector.

WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Remove the water heater (5) from the forward galley and aft galley G3B as follows:
     (a) Remove the remaining sealant with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
     (b) Remove the screws (3) and the washers (2).
     (c) Carefully pull the water heater (5) until you get access to the electrical connector (4).
     (d) Disconnect the electrical connector (4).
     (e) Disconnect the water supply line (1) as follows:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
       1 Disconnect the water supply line (1).
       2 Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
     (f) Remove the water heater (5) from the galley.
     (g) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (2) Remove the water heater (6) from aft galley G4B as follows:
     (a) Remove the remaining sealant with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
     (b) Remove the decorative strip (10) and the screws (9).
     (c) Carefully pull the water heater (6) until you get access to the electrical connector (4).
     (d) Disconnect the electrical connector (4).
     (e) Disconnect the water supply line (1) as follows:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
       1 Disconnect the water supply line (1).
       2 Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
     (f) Remove the water heater (6) from the galley.
     (g) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
     (h) Remove the screws (7) and (8) and the bracket (11).

   (1) For the forward galley:
     (a) Remove the remaining sealant with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
     (b) Remove the screws (3) and the washers (2).
     (c) Carefully pull the water heater (5) out of the galley and hold it in position.
     (d) Disconnect the electrical connector (4).
     (e) Disconnect the water supply line:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
       1 Disconnect the water supply line (1).
       2 Put a PLUG - BLANKING in the disconnected line ends.
     (f) Remove the water heater (5) from the galley.
     (g) Put a CAP - BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector.
   (2) For the aft galley:
     (a) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
     (b) Remove the screws (6) and (10), the metal plates (8) and (7) and the cover (9).
     (c) Remove the screws (3) and the washers (2).
     (d) Carefully pull the water heater (5) out of the galley and hold it in position.
     (e) Disconnect the electrical connector (4).
     (f) Disconnect the water supply line:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
       1 Disconnect the water supply line (1).
       2 Put a PLUG - BLANKING in the disconnected line ends.
     (g) Remove the water heater (5) from the galley.
     (h) Put a CAP - BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector.

   (2) FOR [6475MM] (GALLEY LOC.I)
Remove the water boiler/heater (5) from the galley as follows:
     (a) Remove the screws (3) and the washers (2).
     (b) Carefully pull the water boiler/heater (5) out of the galley and hold it in position.
     (c) Disconnect the electrical connector (4) and the water supply line (1) as follows:
       1 Disconnect the electrical connector (4).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
       2 Disconnect the water supply line (1).
     (d) Remove the water boiler/heater (5) from the galley.
   (3) FOR [6480MM] (GALLEY LOC.III)
Remove the water boilers/heaters (5) and (6) from the galley as follows:
     (a) Remove the screws (3) and the washers (2).
     (b) Carefully pull the water boilers/heaters (5) and (6) out of the galley and hold them in position.
     (c) Disconnect the electrical connectors (4) and the water supply lines (1) as follows:
       1 Disconnect the electrical connectors (4).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
       2 Disconnect the water supply lines (1).
     (d) Remove the water boilers/heaters (5) and (6) from the galley.
   (4) FOR [6482MM] (GALLEY LOC.IV A/B)
Remove the water boiler/heater (5) from the galley as follows:
     (a) Remove the sealant with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
     (b) Remove the screen (9) and the screws (8).
     (c) Carefully pull the water boiler/heater (5) out of the galley and hold it in position.
     (d) Disconnect the electrical connector (4) and the water supply line (1) as follows:
       1 Disconnect the electrical connector (4).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
       2 Disconnect the water supply line (1).
     (e) Remove the screws (7) and the bracket (10).
     (f) Remove the water boiler/heater (5) from the galley.
   (5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (6) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
