Detailed Inspection of Cabin Attendant Seat Attachments, Seat Structure and Seat Belt (Including Seat Belt Attachments and Buckles)

DETAILED INSPECTION OF CABIN ATTENDANT SEAT ATTACHMENTS, SEAT STRUCTURE AND SEAT BELT (INCLUDING SEAT BELT ATTACHMENTS AND BUCKLES).

A. Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 25-22-00-210-050-A
A. Detailed Inspection of the Lower Attachment
   (1) Open the access flap or access door, if necessary.
   (2) Remove the emergency equipment, if necessary.
   (3) Make sure that the lower attachment have no signs of damage, cracks or corrosion.
   (4) Make sure that the lower attachment are not loose or missing.
   (5) Install the emergency equipment, if removed.
   (6) Close the access flap or access door, if necessary.

B. Detailed Inspection of the Upper Attachment
   (1) Remove the backrest cushion from the seat.
   (2) Make sure that the upper attachment have no signs of damage, cracks or corrosion.
   (3) Make sure that the upper attachment are not loose or missing.
   (4) Install the backrest cushion.

C. Detailed Inspection of the Seat Structure
   (1) Remove the cushions from the seat.
   (2) Make sure that the seat structure has no damage, cracks or corrosion.
   (3) Make sure that the parts of seat structure are not loose or missing.
   (4) Install the cushions.

D. Detailed Inspection/Check of the Seat Belt
   (1) Make sure that the seat belt webbing and the belt seams have no signs of damage as follows:
     (a) Do a check of the webbing for:
  • Cut or worn edges
  • Damaged stitching
  • Broken fabric threads
  • Tears
  • Chafing
  • Too much deterioration
  • Too much fusing
  • Felting (felting is when the webbing becomes more flexible, softer and thicker)
  • Frayed webbing (frayed webbing is specified as broken threads).
NOTE: Light wear of the webbing is permitted.
     (b) Replace the seat belt, if:
  • You cannot identify the broken filaments, such as warp (longitudinal) yarns or filler (transverse) yarns when seen from the distance of 8 inches.
  • The edges are worn and the depth of the cut in the webbing is more than 1.588 mm (0.063 in.).
  • The quantity of frayed webbing is more than 10% of the web width.
  • The quantity of frayed webbing is more than 203.2 mm (8.0 in.) of the web length.
  • There are more than 15 broken threads in other locations than the edges.
  • More than 15 stitches in the stitch pattern are broken.
   (2) Make sure that the buckles and the metal attachment fittings have no signs of damage, cracks or corrosion.
   (3) Make sure that the seat belt buckle locks/unlocks correctly.
   (4) Make sure that the seat belt length can be adjusted correctly.
   (5) For the seats with the restraint system and the inertia reel(s):
     (a) Make sure that the seat belt attachment and the roll-up mechanism have no signs of damage, cracks or corrosion.
     (b) Make sure that the parts of the seat belt attachment and the roll-up mechanism are not loose or missing.
     (c) Make sure that you can pull the shoulder harness out smoothly and it automatically goes back into the inertia reel(s).
     (d) Make sure that the shoulder harness locks when you pull it hard and it unlocks when you release the tension.
   (6) Make sure that you can read the markings.

A. Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
