A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the related monument is installed. Refer to chapter 25 to know which monument is installed.

A. Adjustment of the Tie Rod
(2) Release the lock-nuts (2).
(3) Turn the tie rod (1) clockwise or counterclockwise until you can easily install the screw (3) or the quick-release pin (4).
(4) Make sure that the eye-ends of the tie rod (1) are in safety.
(6) If applicable, safety the lock-nuts (2) with14QEB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.6 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - (Ref. AMM TASK 20-11-11-911-001).
(7) If no lockwire is installed, safety the lock-nuts (2) with Threadlocking Adhesive-- Medium strength - (Material No.05BAE1) .
5. Close-upWARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) If installed, cut, remove and discard the lock-wire from the lock-nuts (2). (2) Release the lock-nuts (2).
(3) Turn the tie rod (1) clockwise or counterclockwise until you can easily install the screw (3) or the quick-release pin (4).
(4) Make sure that the eye-ends of the tie rod (1) are in safety.
NOTE: If you cannot push a needle or equivalent through the inspection holes, the eye-ends are in safety.
